Good Morning,  I am enjoying The Last Kingdom books greatly.  This period in history I absolutely an fascinated by!  I am of Irish and dare I say Danish descent so my roots run deep.  I have been to Denmark and Ireland, hope to visit England one day soon.  I especially enjoy the humor with a touch of sarcasm (Uhtred's regarding Alfred!), the wisdom he uses in his decisions to gain his goals, although always delayed, is remarkable. We first found out by watching the Netflix series, however I truly love the books more, I am beginning Sword Song, the Battle for London.  I hope the saga will continue for many more books!  I am looking forward to October's newest installment! Thank you so much Mr Cornwell!!

Sincerely,

Pam Ducharme

Hi Mr. Cornwell,

This won't be the most interesting email; I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed reading Agincourt. I actually listened to the audiobook, while going for long walks - it was like embarking on an adventure, every time. Now I need to decide which of your books to enjoy next. Thank you and have a great day!

Matt,

Dear Mr. Cornwell,

I thought, I would send a short note to say thank you. Thank you for writing such wonderful stories. My absolute favourite are the Last Kingdom series. I am currently re-reading them and am now onto Warriors of the Storm. I find quite a lot in these books that seems to ring true even today. Certainly, as Stiorra says to Uhtred, that he's noisy about being a pagan and believing in the old gods. The First Lady (mine not Mrs Trump') has said something similar. There is something inspiring, reading about Uhtred's adventures, his pragmatic no-nonsense attitude is a pleasure to behold. So, please, up until such time as Uhtred passes from his world into the halls of Valhalla and feasts, drinks, fights with his hall brothers, continue wielding your pen (or computer if so inclined), like Serpent Breath.

Fate is inexorable.

Very best regards,

Andy

Q

Mr Cornwell,

I'd like to say to you that I'm a big fan of your books. I've read Arthur's Chronicles, Holly Graal's Chronicles, Saxonic Chronicles, Waterloo and now I've started Sharpe's Chronicles. You are a great writer, and the historical background gives your books a very special feature: we also learn history and geography.

I'm a environmental engineer from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and your books are very famous here. After reading saxonic chronicles I'm now wanting to make a trip to England and Scotland to know more about their landscapes and what kind of land those vikings wanted so much.

Congratulations for your great work!

Best regards,

Joao.

Q

Dear Bernard

As a drama teacher for over 20 years (now a headteacher so don't teach so much) I want to say a big thank you for the gift that is 'Fools and Mortals'! I have read a great many of your books, including all the Uthred series which I love. Teaching Shakespeare is a joy, but it is often difficult to really give the students a feel for original performance conditions. This book does it brilliantly! I loved it; there is more in it about the tricks and intricacies of the theatre at the time than in many a reference book. This is going straight onto our A Level reading list. Thank you

At age 90 I am re-reading the complete set of Sharpe books, and enjoying them tremendously after 35 years or so. So I owe you a double thank you.  I have also enjoyed your other books, having recently read "The Archer's Tale."  As a retired Navy Commander I am glad I am not living in this times - I would not enjoy serving on a Naval Vessel in the time of the Battle of Trafalgar.

Thank you - and thank you for your service!

Thanks so much for your reply to my Uhtred "debate" comment, Mr. Cornwell. I like Dreymon's energy and enjoy watching him and the rest of the excellent cast of TLK. We'll just have to wait and see what season 3 Uhtred really looks like when/if they put out a trailer, or someone slips out a photo of Dreymon in full costume. So far, everyone has been good at keeping mum. I'm very much looking forward to both reading book 11 and watching season 3. I'll definitely keep my eye out for Beornheard and hope I don't get attached to the man before Uhtred offs him. ;-)

Mr Cornwell,

Thank you for hundreds of hours of reading pleasure.  I've read all the series and and I'm currently enthralled with the Last Kingdom on Netflix.  As a follow resident of South Carolina (DeBordieu) I implore you please conclude the Starbuck Chronicles!
