I read with fascination the recent finding of an ancient underground Roman Mithras temple in London.  I was immediately reminded of one of the Warlord Chronicles.  Cudos to you for the great historical work.

Thank you! I believe it’s one of several Mithraic temples that have been found in London. I think there were many in Britain – perhaps the most accessible is the one built at Maiden Castle in Dorset.

Q

Dear Bernard,

I read your sailing books as a kid, growing up on Strangford Lough in County Down, and loved them. I looked you up for the first time today, largely because I realised I knew very little about you, and was surprised to find that our courses have taken some similar tacks. I enjoyed your intro to the 'contact me' section. So, lesson learned, I thought I might gently suggest my book 'Charlie,' as a possible read. I suspect some of it may be your fault,

Best wishes,

Finn.

Q

Hi have just read The Fort thoroughly enjoyed. Then went onto Google maps and found the actual site, with the outline of the Fort. Even though the area has changed can still imagine the sort of conditions and events then. Next I think will try Azincourt. Thanks.

Q

Hello, Mr. Bernard Cornwell.

Are you alright? Hope so.

My name is Leonardo Vinícius Martins da Silva, I'm Brazilian and I'm 21 years old.

I have complete fascination for his writing. His battle narrative is immersed to the point of making me as excited as the characters who are fighting, maybe a little afraid too, hahaha.

I want to praise you forever for writing great stories, I hope you keep writing for years to come.

>From your honorable reader, my most sincere thanks for all that you write.

Q

Dear Mr. Cornwell,

I have read all of your books (except The Sailing Thrillers)  -  most I have read many, many times.  My authors of choice are Cornwell, O'Brian and Forester.  I am at chapter ten in Fools and Mortals.

I miss Uhtred.  Please get back to Uhtred.  You may be bored with him but we are not.

Sincerely,

Will Prater

Q

Hi, mr. Cornwell.

Two years ago i was not a person who likes to read. Well, i started and bought the warlord chronicles and until now i have not read books better than these.

i liked it so much that i also bought the grail quest, 1356 and the last kingdom (the 10s).

Your way to describing is really fabulous, a gift. Derfel Cadarn is one of my favourite character in all entertainment. In next months i'll start the last book from warlord chronicles, excalibur. (i only read the winter king and the enemy of god).

My message is only to thank you for write this uniques books, that cofirmed my taste for reading. I was listening to a podcast last week about you and your books and they told you reply messages from your website, so i got a will to thank my favorite writer to share his gift with other people.

Wish you the best!

Q

Hello Sir.

I just wanted to say that I am really enjoying the Saxon stories.  I listen to them as audio books on my 3 hour daily commute, and am just finishing the 6th book.  The stories are wonderful, but there have been 4 different narrators and they all pronounce the characters names differently.  It is driving me crazy.

I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed Sword Song. Of the 51 books I read in 2017, Sword Song was one of my favorites. It's an excellent blend of action and history. I also enjoyed Sharpe's Rifles, which I read many years ago. Thanks! -
