Q

I've asked this before but are you EVER going to finish the Civil War series? I can't wait till you live to be 90 or 100 to find out what happens to Starbuck and Truslow, et al., because I can't be sure that I'll still be alive to read them! Please get back to them when you finish the Last Kingdom series! I have enjoyed that series but I am eager to read more of Starbuck!

I often wonder where you sit and write your books. I am reading the Arthur series, again, and wander through the West Country with Derfel, I see and smell the grass and the dew covered plants. I glimpse the wild birds and animals and smell the wood fires from distant villages. Wonderful. Please keep a reign on the scriptwriters of the Last Kingdom. To me this series should rank far above Game of Thrones because it is real history. The actors are splendid but the story must be told as it is written. It's the best drama series that I have seen for years and surely the Grail Quest series must follow. Thank you for giving me years of pleasure with your exotic mind and superb writing.

Dear Mr Cornwell,

Over the years I have read a great many books about the Waterloo campaign — the usual suspects: all professional historians — but none even comes close to your book.

I especially enjoyed your insights, such as:

that it was all about roads

that battlefield tactics were basically a variant on paper, scissors and stone Your understanding of how battles were fought then gives one the sense that one is present on the battlefield, so that one can clearly understand why that was a dreadful and terrifying place to be.

Thank you and well done!

I have recommended it to anyone who expresses any interest in Waterloo — a dwindling number now.

I encourage you to write another non-fiction work of this kind.

I have read and enjoyed all the Sharpe novels.

Charles Marrin

Thank you so much for the story and its beautiful actors. My husband and I both said -we have not seen acting like this in many years. Season 2 episode #3 was incredible. Please let us know there will be a season 3. Forever your fans!

Q

Dear Mr. Cornwell,

Having come to the party late, I sat down and read your Saxon Tales series of  books back to back and had a wonderful experience.  Needless to say, your writing is vivid, informative and engaging.  Your characters are rich and bold on the page.  Thank you for the wonderful experience!

I see the next season's installment of The Last Kingdom is up on Netflix.  I look forward to viewing it.  It must be very nice to have your books realized on the screen.

I do hope there will be another installment of the book series--maybe book eleven?

Thanks for a ;very enjoyable reading experience.

Respectfully,

Paul Roman

There will be another book....

Q

Mr. Cornwell,

I have spent many years reading ( and rereading) your novels. You have provided me with countless hours of entertainment. I thought that I had become used to your style of writing, but in the 10th book of your Saxon chronicles, you wrote one of the most profound concepts that I can recall. During Uhtred's musings on how warriors recount battles' glory but never speak of the horrors, I found myself utterly dumbfounded. It is, quite simply, one of the most profound and truthful paragraphs that I have read on the juxtaposition of war and glory. Thank you, so much, for what you have given to your fans. I cannot wait to read your next offering.

Q

I first Read The Last Kingdom when I was 13 or 14 when my buddy found one of your books in the library. I've read the series three times through since then and these are my favorite books of all time. I just turned 18 a couple days ago and I still can't get over these series! You did great on these books man! Although I love the show I'm sad that now a bunch of people will know about Uhtred other than the book readers, anyways thanks for the time you put into these series they never get old

Q

Just finished "The Last Kingdom" - really enjoyed the adventure and the Netflix series, Looked you up on "wiki" and while reading noticed the book and name Nathaniel Starbuck, who was my 6th great-uncle.  My next read will have to be the "Starbuck Chronicles."

Q

Dear Mr Cornwell

I have just finished reading The Fort and thoroughly enjoyed it as I have all of your books I have read so far.

I did get confused trying to trace the naval action towards the end with the large scale map shown in the book but that was probably me.

Keep up the good work.

David

Q

Dear Mr Cornwell,

I just wanted to thank you and tell you how great and fascinating the Uhtred Saga is. Keep on continuing the story as long as you see appropriate. I've never before pre-ordered a book few months in advance but this series is definitively worth it.

By the way I'm reading the versions translated to German which are translated very well - I've read other books which weren't..

Best regards,
