historical fiction used to pretty much begin and end with Patrick O'Brian for me till I stumbled across Agincourt, The Grail Quest and The Last Kingdom.  I wish Uhtred could go on indefinitely but I suppose he is getting a bit long in the tooth.  I hope when he has to go to Valhalla the story of the birth of England can continue under this or some other series at least to 1066 and preferably till the coming of Henry II.  Thanks for wonderful books.

Hi Bernard.

I'm a huge fan. I am a historical fiction nerd, I won't lie. I think the Starbuck chronicles are excellent, as they are real and vivid, and are so different than many classic novels of the genre which fall so unfortunately into cliche. I guess that's what attracts me to Starbuck...he's so not cliche. Also, I grew up a religious Jew, and my father is a rabbi, so I relate well to Nate's troubled soul. Anyways, just wanted to be another voice out there promoting the Starbuck chronicles and hoping for more.

I must also say I particularly enjoy Delaney's character. We need Starbuck to get revenge on Gillespie and Blythe!

Cheers,

JG

Dear sir,

I would like to personally thank you for the publication of your non fiction work "Waterloo" which I have just read.  It answered a number of questions I have always had about that melee, since I first began looking into the affair a great many years ago.  Bravo!

I am so delighted that you are taking on Richard Shakespeare and by definition his brother!  You have now addressed my three main passions, i.e., English medieval history (Azincourt which I have read twice), Wessex, where I live, and Northumbria, which I love, and now Shakespeare.  No wonder you're my favourite modern writer.  I would like to just relate something that happened at Chirk Castle a couple of years ago.  I went to a festival there and chatted to a young archer in very authentic costume. He was actually mending chainmail with what looked a sort of crochet hook and I said  'I bet you've read Azincourt'  He replied by reciting, at least, the first page by heart and I believe  could have gone much further.  Your books are so well researched and a thundering good read. Thank you so much for creating the Last Kingdom series. I love the TV version too.  Wonderful casting.  Thank you Bernard...

Q

Hi,

Every couple of years I re-read the Arthur trilogy ( i just can't help it). I still think that this is your best work. Surly someone must make a film or TV series?

I notice that again and again people ask for another Sharpe novel, it seems to me that if you write it with Sharpe around the age that Sean Bean is now then we would all have two major treats to look forward to.

This could mean a trip to Africa, Portugal, Spain, India, Brazil, Egypt or even the Ottoman Empire wow?

Also Can I put another Author up there with you and Forester and Mc Donald Fraser and O'Brien.... CJ Samson, I realise that the Thriller fiction is a bit different but for all your fans I urge a look.

Mr. Cornwell,

I am sending you this message to thank you for so many amazing stories. My father introduced me to your books and we have bonded over each series starting with Sharpe and my favorites the Saxon Tales. We would each read the next book in the series and talk about it, and a,ways looked forward to the next in the series. We are both history nuts and find your research to be to notch. your books have been a real joy in my life and I just wanted to thank you. I hope to someday see you at a reading or speaking engagement, I'll get Sharpe's Trafalgar signed then! I really hope that a 3rd season of 'Last Kingdom' will be in the works. Thank you again for all your hard work and for the years of enjoyment they have provided a son and his father.

Sincerely,

Q

Greetings Mr Cornwell;

I really enjoy the tv series from the books you created. I look forward to season 3 and so on.

Honestly, I have not read your books. But I am going to start The Last Kingdom series. So thank you for writing them. I enjoy Outlander and I have read those books prior to watching the series and think the actors are perfect that play your characters and those of Diana G. Thank you:) For sharing your gift of writing and story telling.

Dear Bernard

I thought you might find this an interesting read as it's about a Fencible Regiment that was based on the 95th Rifles right down to the Clothes, the only difference being they had muskets instead of Rifles  http://www.warof1812.ca/gli.htm
