Mr. Cornwell,
I've read your Last Kingdom Series and your Grail Quest series and I like them very much. Thank you for writing them. I just read one of your interviews where you mentioned the King James Bible's style as having influenced you, liking the work Christopher Hitchens, and having a rough childhood and not wanting to revisit it. I can sympathize as one of my most difficult assignments at university was writing my spiritual autobiography. I just wanted to say that I'm sorry you had a difficult childhood and it seems a less than positive brush with Religion.
Yours Truly,
Matt

Dear Mr. Cornwell,
Several years ago I sent you a copy of Rebel which you graciously signed and which I now have as one of the most prized books in my library. While I was reorganizing my bookshelves a few weeks back, I picked Rebel up and skimmed through it for the first time in a few years. Sir, I miss the adventures of Starbuck, Truslow, Colonel Byrd and the rest of the men of Faulconer Co., VA. I know you have been focusing more on the Medieval histories of Britain and Europe these past few years (I purchased 1356 for my Aunt when it came out), but sir, I need Starbuck. There is a certain escapism I found in that series which I have been unable to duplicate with any other series, whether by you or another author. Just one more book to complete the series sir, please. Perhaps Gettysburg and then a fast forward to Appomattox. This would fill the suspense I have felt since finishing The Bloody Ground.
Sincerely,
Austin Jepsky
Mr Cornwell,
thank you for writing the Utred series. I am normally a slow reader, usually taking 3-4 weeks to finish a typical novels. But with your books I was miraculously able to read almost 3 times as fast and have unfortunately gotten through the Flame Bearer as well. Can't wait for your next Utred adventure. Keep up the good work.

I recently came down with an awful cold and immediately ran to my local library and took out 8 of your books to keep me sane while recovering. I wanted to thank you for your novels among which was Killers Wake. As an avid boater and more recently a sailor I enjoyed the protagonists opinions on proper yachts since they closely mirror my own. My wife and boating partner also liked the book though more as a well plotted mystery. She also caught the virus but took out a dozen mysteries to read. When I finished the first 8 I took out 8 more
I am an avid reader of history and historical novels. I am afraid that I only discovered your books at a point when I use the library more and bookstores less. Previously I was addicted to Patrick O'Brian among others. I just cannot thank you enough for the many enjoyable hours following your characters adventures. My wife and I hope you are well and able to add to your wonderful body of work. Thanks, again!

Dear Mr. Cornwell,
You must forgive the brevity of this message. I very well could elaborate on my praise of your work but I doubt any of my compliments would express originality.
I am reading through your Saxon Saga and finished reading Sword Song last night. I hope to begin The Burning Land tomorrow.
Your work has inspired my imagination and influenced my interests. I feel as if I have been transported to a place as foreign as it is familiar. Thank you for fueling my passion for history, and fascination with story telling. I have every intention of devouring all you have ever written.
Sincerest Regards,
Chelsea Allred
Rear cover of "Eagles of the Empire Britannia", my opinion...... you have nothing to be concerned about regarding competition. This book was very disapointing. The choices made by, and the actions taken by , the main characters , defy logic too many times.
Your historical creations will always be my choice.
Mr Scarrow may have vast knowledge of the particulars regarding the Roman occupancy, but that is all that I could find interesting in this read.

I have been devouring your kingdom books on kindle in same way I devoured Wilbur Smith.
Please do not go down his route of ghost writers. They no longer read like a lover of Africa with true soul.
My heart races in anticipation when I download and then start reading . I have learnt so much social history of a period I never covered at school. Thankyou!

Hello Mr Cornwell!
Recently someone posed the question, "Who's the best archer in fiction?"
I had to respond, "Thomas of Hookton."
This inspired me to look up your website and send you an email about how much I enjoy and appreciate your writing. You had a massive influence on me growing up. From a young age I devoured historical fiction, and yours was by far my favorite.
Now I'm trying to write my own books, and I wanted to say thank you. Without authors like you who instilled in me a love for stories and storytelling, I would not read. And if I did not read, I would never write!
So thank you, it's meant a lot to me.

Dear Bernard.
I am nearly as old as you, and was a Napoleonic buff and wargamer in the 1980s and 90's. When I went into my local bookshop and saw the paperback of Sharpe's Rifles, I bought it straightway and read it in a day or so. I normally do not read much fiction, as have so much non fiction to read and study. It was great. I am sure that I recall a square being cut down and it struck me as the best piece of historical writing ever.
I thought I had all of the books until I saw a few new ones in hard cover, Fury and Escape etc. I now have these in hardback. And most of the DVD's I most humbly thank you for bringing us Sharpe and raising the awareness of The Napoleonic Period.
Just a small point, you list on your website the order in which to watch the DVD's, I notice in number 2 that Sharpe captured two eagles! Surely! even Sean Bean could not do that.
Best regards
