Mr Cornwell

I just thought I'd let you know how much I enjoyed your only work of non-fiction about the Battle of Waterloo. Capital effort. Thoroughly well researched and readable. Had me totally absorbed from beginning to end. If you ever decide to put pen to paper and write about another battle you certainly have an audience here.

Being Asian, I have a particular interest in the battles of the Indian Mutiny, the Anglo-Mysore and the Anglo-Sikh Wars.

Once again, well done, Sir, and all the best for the future.j

I was a history major and especially liked the Middle Ages.  What a joy your books are and I look forward to reading all of them (not matter what era).  Thank you so very much Mr. Cornwell!

Sir

Having watched The Last Kingdom series on BBC I had to find out more! My lovely husband has purchased six of the novels for me, as my christmas gift.  I started reading Book 1 (reprinted by the BBC) on Christmas Eve. I am in heaven! I have never read any of your works (to my shame) but I am transported to the wind-swept North East cost of England within pages. Thank you, thank you! I will be kept busy reading for several months now and am hopeful that the BBC will commission another series. I would much rather read your written word first, and then watch but on this occasion I have to play catch-up

I found your writing thanks to The Last Kingdom on BBC.  It's like crack-cocaine.  I can't stop.  What fun.  Thank you!

Q

dear Mr.Cornwell,

I just wanted to say thank you so much for writing such fantastic books. i didn't enjoy history at school (who did?!) but your books have awoken a huge appetite for it within me, particularly the Napoleonic period and the hundred years war(although any time that the English have stuffed the french is worth reading about, must be an English thing...).The Saxon stories now have me sifting through a multitude of Alfred/Viking related articles and books. You have genuinely enriched my life, and i am very grateful to you for it Sir. i also share a loathing of lawyers, priests and other money grabbing control freaks so Ragner's comment 'if a man has to write down his laws to remember them, then he has too many' rang very true to me.

many thanks for the so many hours of sheer pleasure you have given me, i look forward to purchasing your next!

cheers, john

Hi - just a quick word. Well done for producing such fun, interesting and well written stories. I met up with Uhtred about 2 years ago. We had moved from our beloved country South Africa in about May 2012. Got a good enough job in Washington DC. I can recall - I was on some mission, cannot remember now which country, when I met up with Uhtred in the Last Kingdom book. I was taken in by his FU (sorry) attitude - I am what I am, and his passion/commitment to get back his heritage. Probably resonates with our South African issues. Fast forward to now and I have read every book except your latest Warriors. I laugh now - as my son Kyle used to joke with me that I was reading books about Witches and Dragons etc - as just the other day - 'Dad! did you see that Uhtred is now on TV!'. What - no ways, I replied! Anyway - I have really enjoyed the first series - The Last Kingdom. Watched in our cabin on Salt Spring Island, Canada. My wife has been away visiting family in ole South Africa, and I have just returned from a mission in China/Vietnam. Rainy nights, bourbon and Uhtred - a good mix.

Cheers for now

Hi Bernard,

Have just finished Azincourt and feel compelled to drop you a line as I have enjoyed it so much (and learnt a great deal along the way). Quite brilliant, masterly.

As a direct contemporary of yours at Monkton I experience a sort of knee jerk reaction when ever I notice your name on a bookstall, which happens frequently of course!

Anyway, exceedingly well done,

All the best,

Richard

Q

Mr. Cornwell,

My husband found your BBC series The Last Kingdom on TV and recorded it for me as he knows I really like the subject matter. I absolutely fell in love with it. I am thrilled there are more in the Saxon series. I plan to read them all starting with the first book. Thank you so much! I finally found something worth reading.

Regards,

Tara Davenport
