I have loved the Saxon Stories.  Looking forward to the release of the last book, hoping that it is not the last book.

Q

I appreciate your whole lines of stories!  I am an Anglophile and served in the USAF @ RAF Bentwaters 1977 to 1979 , traveled  much and am keen on history. Your grasp of average viewpoint esp. of warriors is invaluable! I've read  most all the books and seen 'Sharpe's' vcrs here in Ft. Worth TX!  GREAT JOB!

Very disappointed to read in the Sunday Times that literary editors don't recognise you?  I  experienced something similar when I mentioned your name at a recent archaeological dig at Conisbrough castle.

My wife and I went along earlier this year to watch the diggers who were explaining that they had reached the original ground level and what it would have been like to walk on.  I mentioned that I was reading one of your novels (last Kingdom) and that you explained the conditions in great detail, at which point the two diggers looked at each other and sniggered.

I took this to be very dissrespectfull of yourself (putting it mildly) and we walked away. Dont these academics realise that its authors like you who make history interesting to plebs such as me.  I have learned such alot by reading your novels and long may they continue.

Thank you very much on behalf of my neighbour and myself who love your work.

Kind regards and Mery Christmas to you all.

Steve

Hello

I'm not really the kind of person that usually writes messages like this, but I feel as you were the author who began my interest in reading for pleasure I thought i'd show some appreciation.

I'm not saying Sharpe was the first ever book I read but Sharpe's Rifles was the first book I ever truly enjoyed. After finishing it I then continued on reading the rest of the Sharpe series and loved every one of them. I have been an avid book reader ever since. However, like a heroin addict, I now feel I am chasing the dragon and looking for a book that gave me the same sense of excitement that the Sharpe series gave me. So you may have ignited my passion for books but you have also destroyed every other book in the world for me.

Anyway I would just like to say thank you as a fan and can we expect another Sharpe adventure on the horizon?

Samuel Sheppard

P.S I would never even attempt to suggest an idea as you seem to have that under control. However I would say that Samuel Sheppard would be an excellent name for a character. ;) Just saying.

A

It is a good name....

Dear Mr. Cornwell,

Thank you for all of your wonderful series. I am finding immense enjoyment in your latest works, as I have in all previous.

I saw this article and immediately wondered if it could have been buried by Uhtred?

Q

First of, I would like to say that your books are amazing and wonderful, and you have become my favorite author in the last half a year. I have read all the Sharpe books, and am on the last Starbuck novel. What I really wanted to say is thank you for including a regiment from North Carolina in the third book, as I feel like no one really talks about them very much in the civil war, despite them having sent just as many if not more confederate soldiers to fight than Virginia! Thank you very much for the memories that you have already given me to treasure. Just keep on writing great books! P.S. If you could make more North Carolinians appear in the books, that'd be great!

Q

I do not contact you wishing to get free books or request you to help me with any unpublished items. I wish to contact you to tell you "Thank You". After my husband and i started watching the last kingdom. I just fell in love with the storyline. So due to time issues bought the audio version of the book. OH MY GOD, i loved it even more then the show. So, i will start the iPad up, reading it to me as i go along the boring events of daily chores. Now I have bought the pale horseman and it keeps me company along my days events. With this in mind I send my thanks for making books once again intresting for me personally. I look foward to other wonderful stories of yours.
