Dear Mr Cornwell.
I wanted to drop you a line to say that I enjoyed the first episode of The Last kingdom which was shown in the UK on Thursday night. Although the characters don’t appear as they do in your mind’s eye when you read the books, they do fit with the story line very well.
I recently bought Warriors of the Storm and will hopefully get to read it very soon.
Many thanks for all the great stories you have told.
Kind regards
David Fletcher

Sir
having a large collection of ''Waterloo '' literature, including Mark Adlins Waterloo Companion, may I compliment you on your superb telling of the battle.
Waterloo is a complex mixture of charge , counter charge, times are sometimes vague ,some decisions difficult to understand [ particularly Ney's ] and many more complexities making most narrations confusing .
However your meticulous relating of the battle is a work of a writer who knows and understands the decisions of generals and officers, the movement of troops etc etc . It is a work every person beginning a study of Waterloo should make number one read , so that the pieces of the puzzle in subsequent books will be more readily understood.
many thanks ,sir , a pity it was not five hundred pages more .
regards

A GREAT FAN FROM BELGIUM
I'm listening to the Sharpe series as I exercise. I read them long ago but this time I can appreciate the humor and the craft so much more. I have studied military history since my teenage years in the 'fifties. I re-enacted the French and Indian War and Washington's Indian War in the Ohio Country. So I really appreciate your accurate descriptions of weapons, tactics, and 18th century material culture. You have so contributed to the knowledge and pleasure of so many. Thank you.

I am a retired D&T teacher and have to manage the chronic pain that comes from spinal arthritis.. Your novels, along with good music, have been a wonderful source of entertainment, education and escape. I would like to thank you for taking me to places where history was made and for teaching me more about the Napoleonic Wars than droning History teachers in draughty classrooms ever could ever hope to. Thanks again!

Good Afternoon Mr. Cornwell and Co.,
I simply wanted to say "thank you" for your wonderful books. I first discovered Sharpe and Harper while I was a cadet on board the T/S Golden Bear, a training ship for the United States Merchant Marine. A well-thumbed copy of "Sharpe's Havoc" was buried in the ship's library and I was fortunate enough to stumble across it. I have thoroughly enjoyed Mr. Sharpe's adventures and have managed to read most of your other works as well, including your recent non-fiction account of Waterloo. Additionally, I have managed to read of a number of the books you referenced in your post-novel credits, and have enjoyed the majority of those as well. In sum, I wanted to reach out and say "thank you" for your efforts. I hope your pen continues to find the paper.
Sincerely,
D. Weir

Dear Mr. Cornwell,
I want to thank you for an especially exciting and thrill filled new story of Lord Uhtred. I have been eagerly awaiting for the book to arrive from the UK, and I could not put it down. This was an especially gripping story in the series, and one of my favorites. Uhtred is still funny, intimidating, feared, respected, secretly kind and a warrior in every sense of the word.
You're an amazing author, and again, I just wanted to say thank you!
