Dear Mr. Cornwell

It was the April of 2005 when I first learned about you by reading The Winter King. It was a very stressful year, I was trying to finish my residency and your Arthur books were a great help in relieving the stress.
I was doing my military service in the summer of 2006, when I read the Holy Grail Books an deven though I was in the army, It was one of the best summers of my life.
I have spent the summer of 2009 in Vienna as an observer in the University hospital. It was another remarkably good summer accompanied by the first four books of the Saxon Stories (They are still not published in Turkish as of now so I had to find English copies).
When I was getting prepared for marriage in May 2010, I read The Burning Land.
Now after a long and depressive winter as I am reading The Death of Kings. I have realized one thing.
A good summer is never good enough without a Bernard Cornwell Book.

Kind Regards

Again, 2013 has turned out to be a dark year and, If it's okay, I'd like to post an obituary. Professor Mick Aston passed away on 24 June, aged 66. He was a great, witty, and inspirational character - well known for his West Midlands accent and colourful knitted sweaters! - and formed part of the excellent Time Team television programme for armchair archaeologists. Mick's academic expertise was essential to Time Team's informative content; his enthusiasm proved inspirational and easy to understand. The world of archaeology has indeed lost a superb mind and fantastic person in Mick Aston - yet he certainly left a mark for all to fondly remember.

Deepest regret and condolences to Mick Aston's family in their time of terrible loss. I heard news of his death on the radio and at once felt moved to tears.

My thanks for reading.
Robert Douglas

Q

Mr. Cornwell,
I have no idea why I did not read them before now, but just completed the Starbuck Chronicles.  As a civil war enthusiast since reading Killer Angles (Michael Scharra) at the age of 13 and a many times visitor to the battlefield sites in your books, I was enthralled by the story line and description of actions.  I could picture myself at those points on the battlefield and feel the raw emotions of the characters.  Thanks for a great piece of work.  (And I have tickets to your Wednesday July 3 performance in Chatham, looking forward to it.)

Regards,

Steve Sprague

Q

I first read The Winter King in 1996, and very quickly picked up the other two books in the trilogy as soon as they were available here in the states.

I just wanted to say "Thank you" for giving me my three favorite books of all time. I've reread the trilogy at least 6 times now. Every person I come across who tells me they never really enjoyed any fiction relating to King Arthur, I plead with them to give your books a read. So far every person has fallen in love with them just as much.

As much as I dislike seeing bad tv/movie adaptations, I do hope that something happens to propel these characters into the realm of film. The love story of Derfel and Ceinwyn alone would make for a great movie.

Best wishes to you sir.
Travis

Q

Dear Mister Cornwell,
a great Thanks for the books with Uhtred. I love history and your books in this time of King Alfred are wonderful.

Q

Hello Mr Cornwell,

I started reading your books in 2008 aged 16 with Harlequin and have never been more enthralled. I just wanted to say a huge thank you for your work. Your books have inspired me to attempt to write my own and I cannot thank you enough for giving me the inspiration to tell my own stories. I am currently reading 1356 and thoroughly enjoying it.

Again thank you and best of luck with your future projects.

Q

Mr. Cornwell,
I've been an avid fan from the thrillers onward...read'em all and still have most---those I haven't given to friends and then re-purchased.  You've given me many hours of enjoyment---even two or three times around.  Eager for Pagan Lord to come out over here next year.
Many Thanks,
Jeff Harry Woolf

Q

Dear Mr Cornwell

I cannot overstate how much I have enjoyed your books over the years.

I trust you are in good health and look after yourself so that I might see the conclusion of Uhtred's tale unlike a favourite recently promoted Admiral and his surgeon who have been abandoned in the River Plate by the demise of their creator.

Many thanks and Best Regards
Grant Bourke
