Uhtred's next journey will be available soon!  To read an excerpt of the next book of the Saxon stories, The Pagan Lord, click on this link:  http://www.bernardcornwell.net/books/the-pagan-lord/

I have exhausted all of your books that I can get ahold of, so I have had to read other material. I came across one book that I thought you might find interesting: Mr. Churchill's Profession by Peter Clark. It covers Winston's life examining it as that of an author who did politics rather than a politician who wrote.

An interesting angle, thank you!

Q

Dear Bernard,
I just finished reading 1356 and I thought it was simply amazing! I am a volunteer at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and one of my favorite galleries is the "Arms and Armour". After reading your book I can actually see the knights and their horses come alive!! Now every time I visit the museum I will enjoy it so much more because of your talent in describing with such wonderful detail a totally different world.
Sincerely,
Daniel

Q

Dear Mr Cornwell,

May I just say I have gained a lot of pleasure reading your Sharpe series, they have given me many hours of enjoyment, (hours which I should have used studying!!). I often wish I could try and illustrate Sharpe for fun but have not got around to it yet. I must try and read the other series you have written but I keep finding myself picking up Sharpe again! i have always liked how deep your characters go and how insightful they can be for me. I hope you are well, thank you, and promise to read your other series!

Q

Hello Mr Cornwell.

I just wanted to say I really enjoyed your talk at the Osterville library a few weeks ago. It was tremendously entertaining (and dare I say it, informative too). All the best with the new series and I'm really looking forward to the Pagan Lord.
Cheers
Tim

Q

When I finished rereading all of the Sharpe books, in order this time, I went directly to the Saxon series for another wonderful reread. Currently, I have started on The Archers Tale. I would like to reread the Starbuck Chronicles but only if you are planning a follow up book. I was pleased to see that you are involved in theater. I have trod the boards for 35 years. I am happy that we share this interest. Thank you again  for all the enjoyment your stories provide.

Q

Hi just a short note "hurry up" . Thanks for all the pleasure.

Q

Hey Bernard/Mr Cornwell (whichever you'd prefer.)

Just wanted to email you to say thank you for writing The Saxon Stories. I have always been a fan of the Sharpe series and recently I had a huge craving for some good reading after reading the Song of Ice and Fire series and then someone told me about the Saxon Stories, so I bought the first book and then next thing I know I've read the first two books within days. I find all of the characters really fascinating and sometimes I find myself supporting the Danes (I am a bad Englishman.) Also living in Hampshire on the South coast  it's a really nice change to see some places I recognise in a book!

All in all I could probably write an essay to you about everything I love about the series so far (about to start the third book) but I'll finish off by saying that you have provided me with much needed escapism and immersion in tough times, and you have gained yourself a lifelong reader. I plan on reading your other books as soon as I've finished with the Saxon Stories. I'll be looking forward to see what you create next!

All the best, and I apologise if my spelling/grammar is terrible, Being 17 and never having very good grades in English makes for a poor combination! Haha!

Q

Dear Mr. Cornwell,
I really  have enjoyed your Saxson Tales and the Grail Quest series of books and I am looking forward to reading the upcoming "The Pagan Lord".  Until it has been published, I will start on the Sharpe's series.
Thank you for the great novels you have written.  They are like old friends to me.

I haven't been here for awhile and was delighted with the new layout of the website. I was at the library today and discovered you're written a new book, 1356... I shouldn't be surprised. I've got your entire Sharpe series (hardback). I adore your writing. I discovered them when I broke my back about ten years ago. You kept me sane. Blessings,

Sharon

PS - writing a big on my blog about you.
