Thank you for writing books rich in history and adventure. My entire family consumes everything you write. Similarities in character traits of your protagonists is OK because we love them all. We want to be them. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

Mr. Cornwell,
You probably hear this every day but I just wanted to thank you for your awesome books which are a pleasure to read. I was never an avid reader until I was given The Last Kingdom 5 years ago and I could not get enough of Uhtred. Your books moved me in a way I had never experienced and have given me a new found love for reading. So thank you very much and I cant wait for the next Saxon installment.
Mark
Dear Bernard,
I have been a fan of your characters for as long as I can remember. I watched the TV adaptations of Sharpe as a boy and started reading your books as soon as I felt confident to do so. I have read nearly everything you have done less The Starbuck Chronicles which I now have good to go!
I'm not saying you're the main reason for me joining the Army as my father also served however my decision to be a Rifleman is most certainly your doing! Whilst in Afghan we had a little library going in our checkpoint where unsurprisingly quite a few of your books featured - I still remember the day I finished Sharpe's Devil whilst in the back of a Mastiff vehicle out there -sad times although my family did send out The Warrior Chronicles!
I'm ashamedly not someone who usually voices his opinions on forums such as this but due to your influence I feel it's deserved. Thank you for all your toils and tribulations!Yours
Will
Re the question from someone else about doing a book on John Hawkwood. Just to wet your appetite, he was an Essex man. Admittedly not South Essex but the better part of Essex, North. His life and achievements are fascinating and not well publicised these days even in his home village. I am am eagerly awaiting the next Uhtred book, please write faster.

Your books are absolutely brilliant. A superb combination of excellent wirting, wonderful storytelling and historical fact. What will I do when I have read them all! Love adventure, was a former officer in 2 Para, and now live in Hawaii.
Thanks.

Bernard,
I am a former School Principal and currently the Director of Tuition Time Learning Centres. I am completely besotted with your writings and have every book except the "Rebel" series. The pages exploring Richard Sharpe's exploits are worn and tattered... I must have read all of them 10 times, hoping to catch some little facet of the story I missed? However, the Uhtred series, without doubt is my favourite. The portrayal of King Alfred is so real and vivid. The dialogues he has with Uhtred are so
like my brother here in Australia, who is an Anglican Minister of some repute.
I cannot wait for your next adventure. I will be the first to buy it here.
All the best,Howard Boughton
Bernard,
I'm embarrassed to say that at the age of 43 I just discovered you and your novels. I Picked up 1356 on a whim at the library and have become an immediate admirer of your work. I look forward to reading your previous books in the coming years. Thank you for being outstanding at what you do.
Chris Lockner
Don't be embarrassed! Glad to know you found my book. Hope you will enjoy the others too!
Dear Mr Cornwell
I bought 1356 for my son, read the first couple of pages before giving it to him, and haven't put it down since. It must be one of the finest historical novels ever written, bringing to life both historical detail and the brutality of life in those times. Congratulations. Don't stop. Ever.

Mr. Cornwell,
I just finished The Fort. Congratulations on another great story. I felt I should take a little time to tell you that your novels have been the stimulus for several trips I have made, including Agincourt, Crecy, and multiple battlefields on the Iberian peninsula.
I made some videos of our trip visiting several of the Peninsular campaign battlefields.

I was particularly interested that you documented the early career of Lt. Moore. Sometimes when we fly from the US into the Mediterranean area we fly over Corunna and I think about General Moore's death there while loading his British troops onto ships to avoid capture by Napoleon's troops.
Thanks again also for 1356 as I read a detailed book about the Black Prince's travels before the battle of Poitier at your suggestion.

Bernard.
Our rock and roll band "The Screaming Neckties" (all old fogies by the way), love the Uhtred series and gobble them up when they come out. This has, of course, led us to Starbuck, the Grail books, and back into re-reading Sharpe. I recently visited Bamborough Castle. Thrilled by the setting. We need a new Uhtred!
BTW I write historical novels as well and sell on Amazon. I know what you mean about reading other authors stuff. Their plots creep in.Cheers,
Mike
Love the name of your band! New Uhtred coming your way soon!
