Mr. Cornwell - I just finished the Sharpe series, less than an hour ago. With limited reading time the process took nearly a year! I greatly enjoyed the series and now I find myself feeling somewhat bitter-sweet...like an old friend has moved away. I read the Grail Quest and Arthur books before Sharpe. I look forward to reading the others series' as well. All the best to you. James Hopkins St. Charles, MO

I cannot imagine the volume of contacts that you receive. Your books do more than entertain me when I read them. They lead me to look deeper into the events before, during, and after your tales. I have learned so much by using your novels as a springboard to explore history. It is usually the case where fact, when known is usually stranger that fiction. I am sure you cannot write fast enough to tell the tales of Britian. One period stands out to me as having been ignored. That is the time where the Danes actually did rule England under Cnut the Great. I would be very interested to hear your view and the possibility a book covering the Danish rule of England prior to the Norman conquest. Thanks and I wish you a long and happy life, keep writing. Jeff Stephens
It is a fascinating period - so yes, maybe? One day? Right now I have no plans, but I grew up very near one of Cnut's battle sites so I've long been interested in him. So yes, perhaps?
Dear Mr Cornwell, I want to say nothing more than your books are wonderful. I recently picked up The Last Kingdom following a glowing review from a friend and I was blown away. I'm currently storming through the Pale Horseman. In short thank you for painting such a wonderful mirror of the past for one to walk through, Yours, Tom Lewis
Hi Bernard - am a great fan and enjoy your books. I just wanted to suggest a possible subject for you to consider writing about, i.e. the Battle of Brunanburh (937). Very important battle between the Anglo Saxons and the combined armies from Scotland, Vikings, Ireland and Scrathclyde. Just a thought - I would love to see what you would do with it. Keep the good work coming - I look forward to your work and reread Saxon before the next book comes out. I'm 68 so please get it done before I pass on! LOL Thanks!

Keep on reading Uhtred....
Dear Mr. Cornwell, I just want to tell you that I love the Saxon stories and Uhtred is one of my favorite characters. I enjoy reading the books, but have also found that the books on tape are read by a wonderful actor who can enliven my long distance drives and prevent road rage. I am an otherwise peace-loving woman of 61. I hope you will continue the Saxon stories. I am almost done with Death of Kings, and eagerly await another wonderful story! Thank you! Lila
Dear Sir I have just finished "the Fort", what a truly great book! I am an officer within the Norwegian armed forces, and this book really took me as a "storm", I didn't know the story about Penobscot from earlier, so for me the outcome was uncertain nearly right up to the end!I truly felt sorry for Peleg Wadsworth, he wanted to make a great change, but did not get the right support. Brigadier McLean, you really managed to "give" us in a very interesting way, a proper officer he was! My daugthers gave me the Fort and Azincourt, even from another period of time, I will start immediately, and Sir, I can't wait. Thank you for giving us this great pleasure Sir! Kind Regards Mr. Jone Myhr Erichsen (Norway)
Dear Mr Cornwell Firstly I would like to thank you very much for The Sharpe series and the Saxon Stories. Although I never read the Sharpe books i thoroughly enjoyed the TV series and have them all on DVD. As for the Saxon Stories I have read all of them and enjoyed every single one so thank you. The series I have most recently stumbled across is the Starbuck Chronicles and I am enjoying them as much as everything else however I am now coming to the end of Bloody Ground and have discovered there is not yet another book. I know from reading your comments on your website about the series that you get asked this constantly but PLEASE write some more I am 18 and leaving school this year and I need something new to occupy my attention after my A-Levels. Thank you very much for the Sharpe Series, The Starbuck chronicles and the Saxon stories. Ned Rae
I absolutely love the Saxon series!!!! I have studied English history but these series of books just makes me want to learn more. I just finished Death of Kings and am glad Uhtred is not gone. I just wish that you could write faster!!!! It takes less time to read and finish a book than it takes to write one. Keep up the excellent work!!!

Good Morning, Sir Cornwell, I'm a Brazilian fan and I've just wanted to thank you for your books! As in Brazil the books in general are a bit expensive, I can not buy all at once, but I have already finished The Grail Quest, Azincourt, Stonehenge, The Arthur Books and I' m now reading the second book of Sharpe. I've just wanted to thank you for having created characters like Sharpe, Derfel and Thomas that are simply amazing! Thank you very, very, very much! Marianne
Just wanted to say thank you for your amazing work! I participate in medieval combat sports, no role playing, just combat in garb, braveheart without blood mostly. I invite you to experience this. Belegarth website. Agincourt rocked! Duke Wagner
