I am a big fan of all your books - I started with the Sharpe series - besides being extremely entertaining they also give an accurate insight into life for the soldiers and the people who lived in those era's. I wanted to thank you for making my life a little more bearable, reading a Cornwell book is an inspiration to me and helps me to understand and admire the bravery and determination of those who defend the good in most people.

I first came across your books, while browsing in a Belgian bookstore. I bought "The Burning Land" and that was 2 years ago. Since then, I bought all the Saxon Stories and I still can't stop reading them. I do not know how much of your own philosophy is in them, but I have thoroughly enjoyed your take on the church. I won't presume to tell you what you wanted to bring across. I thought it was perceptive as to motives,clear about the greed that oils the wheels of influence and justly sarcastic on the hypocrisy of the holy men who still claim to hold the keys to the kingdom of heaven. All that and a great story too. Anyway, I just felt I had to write to tell you I have really enjoyed myself reading your books.thank you

Hello I just wanted to drop you a quick comment. After years of reading your books, mainly the Saxon Series I have never though to find a website so this is a little late coming. I LOVE your books, Saxon, Grail and the one offs like Azincourt and The Fort. Really looking forward to Uhtred getting back to Bebbanburg and hopefully meeting up with Rangar. I will one day get round to reading the Sharpe novels but as I saw all the TV films first I will give this some time before I read the books as I understand they are quite different in places. Thank you for providing such entertaining reading. My train to work would be so incredibly boring with out your books.

I visited Fort George many years ago whilst on holiday from England. I knew nothing of the Penobscot river battles but learned of them as I toured and read more. Your book brought the whole incident to life for me and I thank you very much. I guess you have no film rights to look forward to....I can't see Mel Gibson making a blockbuster of this event.

Dear Sir I recently discovered your work, through the interview by George Martin. I have loved every novel of yours I have found. The Saxon Tales most of all. Please give us the rest of Uhtred's story, up to the time of his narration of the other stories would be great. I found your work after the frustration of becoming engrossed in the fine work of Mr. Martin only to find the novels of the Fire and Ice series have no endings, They are all really one book with no final chapters. I do appreciate that each of the novels in the Saxon Tales has an end and does not leave us hanging. But please let us have the stories of the rest of Lord Uhtred's life.

Started with Fort that whetted my appetite not bragging but I know good when I see it. I have all but two of the Sharpe's that seem hard to find or all of your works that intrigue me. I was a history major and retired Army. I have all but a few of your works and look forward to many happy hours. I have an unusual job that allows me to read for much of the time--mostly to keep my mind active. I work only weekends and have all week to shop for books. I got sucked into the Saxon tales books by a nook freebie offer for book 1. I have in the past 2 weeks bought and read all of the rest and must commend you and share that my most favoritism part (and yes I am aware and intentionally using poor grammar) was when the priests declared in book 6 that angels (whores and goose feathers) had given a prophecy. I have not stopped chuckling! Many thanks for that! Best karma ever!

Please don't feel you need to reply. I just wanted to tell you that I finished The Fort this morning and I enjoyed it very much. This is the first time i have read one of your books and it wont be the last. I usually read non-fiction but your historical fiction is very satisfying. It is a bit disappointing to discover the truth about one of America's icons....too bad Longfellow didn't begin, "Listen to my story of the fabulous cause....". Anyway, just to let you know I thought it was a wonderful read. Brian

I am reading SARUM by Rutherford. Thankfully i've read up to and including DEATH OF KINGS. So I have lots of background info on King Alfred.
