Short and simple - I really enjoy your stories and you are my favorite author.

Hi there In 'Scoundrel' there is an editing error - the boat Corsaire is referred to initially as a sloop, and then later (I think only once) as a ketch. Sorry to be picky! Keep up the good work. Caleb.
Thank you - I'll check that for any reprints!
Mr. Cornwell: I'm not much given to fan letters, but by some very strange coincidence I find myself playing the computer game Skyrim, reading Will Durant's 'Age of Faith' at work, listening to Dan Carlin's 'Thor's Angels' podcast, and re-reading the whole Saxon series before I bought 'Death of Kings'. Completely unplanned, but wonderful when it all happened at the same time. Thanks so much for 30 years of education and entertainment, and looking forward to many more.

Hi Mr. Cornwell. In your answer to a March 4th letter from Geraint, you mentioned that you were considering having Starbuck present for the 54th Massachusetts assault on Fort Wagner, SC. Since this assault took place on July 18th, 1863, it would probably preclude Starbuck from being at Gettysburg, which was only two weeks before. Fort Wagner would make a good story, but if its a choice between that and Starbuck at Gettysburg, it's no contest: have him at Gettysburg. Alan Kempner
That sounds like sound advice! Thank you!

Hello - I have read the first 5 Saxon Tales and am going to get my hands on the (new) 6th ASAP! Kudos to you - your books were recommended by a professor teaching early English history. I'm so very much impressed by your ability to meld research/history with a great plot and characters! You may find it amusing to know how much I (and many others, no doubt) identify with Uhtred. I am a 65-year-old woman who is under 5 feet 2 inches, so I don't always get quite the respect that Uhtred commands, but reading about him has somehow given me a more powerful sense of self - I found myself snarling at a man who thought I should get out of his way at the grocery store (what happened to Old Ladies First???) and afterward realized I'd been "channeling" Uhtred. Probably the subconscious of most of us would like to go around with a long sword plus a short one, to threaten or murder anyone who got in our way! So keep those Uhtred books coming! (Thank you!)BTW, I realize that Osburn is a "Viking" name.
Ms. Osburn
Oh well done! Uhtred would be proud of you! And what did happen to Old Ladies First? Or even Ladies First? I held the door open for a woman not long ago and she Uhtreded me, I suppose I offended her feminist convictions, which is fine for her, but confusing for us. On a quite different matter I came across a Noel Coward quote the other day which made me laugh; 'I always prefer to travel on Italian ships, there's none of that 'women and children first' nonsense.' Thanks!

AAAAhhhh!!!! Mister Cornwell sir you are a genius! Please write another Saxon Series book I have to know what happens next. I have just finished Death of Kings and I can't wait. Uhtred needs to ride again.

Dear Bernard, I enjoy your books tremendously and am a bit of an amateur historian myself (brother and sister-in-law are the professionals :-) I value the Historical Notes at the end of your books and see you as a sort of heir to George MacDonald Fraser... Looking forward to the next Thomas of Hookton and Uhtred books with bated breath... Great stuff, keep up the good work ! Julian Stargardt Hong Kong
Just finished your series about Uhtred and I've seen a lot of Christians complaining about the portrayal of priests. Personally I think it's brilliant, and after an upbringing of people completely blinded by religion, I can definitely relate to it. Thanks for such an epic story!
