I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate your work! I am currently reading the Sharpe books but have also read most of the Saxon tales and the Grail Quest series. I have a passion for history, especially Medieval England. Having only been able to visit England twice & prior to reading your books, I really want to make another trip across the pond and see some of the places you have written about in your books. You certainly have an incredible grasp of the warrior mindset which is something few authors seem to fully understand. Please keep up the good work! It's great stuff! Brett Swigert

The Saxon stories are great and I think Uhtred is one of the best dudes ever. Please keep writing about him the books are awesome.

Mr. Cornwell, First it is marvellous that you take the time to correspond with your fans. One of the great memories of my life was when on my first trip to the UK, on a cold and foggy spring morning, I first saw Bamburgh Castle rising up on its perch. What a wonderful site and location. I have to admit to reading all of your books and owning DVD's of all the Sharpe series. They certainly were fortunate in their casting from Sean Bean, to Pete Postlethwaite and even a young Daniel Craig. I have to state that you are my favourite, living author of fiction. Although you are not quite perfect, for my money Starbuck is nowhere near as interesting as Lassan and his chronicles are your weakest series. So purely for selfish reasons, I implore you. Please complete Uhtred's saga before you write any other books. Of all your characters Uhtred is the most fascinating. Sharpe is still the original but his backstory is not as complex, nor is he as self-aware as Uhtred. Thank you for many hours of enjoyment and I hope that you are able to bring us many more.

Just finished reading all four of the Starbuck Chronicles and you have brought the American Civil War to life for me. I,m at present recreating all the major battles of the ACW in a board game format and you have inspired me to triple my efforts. Thanks for the books... More please. Martin Brierley
Mr. Cornwell, I just wanted to say what a pleasure it is to read your work. I have read all of the Sharpes series and am working my way through the Starbuck Chronicles now. I will continue to read your work in the future. Thanks, Harry B. Harris
I just finished DEATH OF KINGS. I should have read it slower because now I have a long wait till the next installment. I enjoyed it very much. Thank you.

Hello, Mr. Cornwell! I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoy your novels. You are a truly great writer. I can't tell you how important your books have been to me - the Sharpe books and the Saxon stories especially - and as a newly minted librarian, I look forward to introducing many new readers to your work. Thank you for being awesome. All the best!

Sir, My name is Lieutenant Colonel Jason Bridges. I started reading your books on my last deployment to Iraq and can't put them down. The Saxon Chronicles and Sharpe Series were particular hits among our Soldiers. It was always a great escape to read one of your books when we had the time and as we move on to the next deployment I'm going to be sure to stock a foot locker of your books to take! Take care and keep the Saxon chronicles coming. Thanks much!
Jason Bridges
The thanks go to you!
I have only read your Saxon Series as I fell in love with Uhtred. Thank you for creating this series. I am a huge fan of historical fiction and am not the one for a Harlequin type of storyline. I look forward to reading the other series and getting to know your characters better. I hope to become a writer one day and only hope that I can finesse the storyline as well as you do. Belinda
Hello Mr Cornwell I would like to thank you for the immense pleasure Uhtred and the Saxon series has given me, I've always been interested in history but thanks to you I now find this period particularly fascinating. Again many thanks, Angie from Hull, just north east of Mercia & a fair trek north to Bebbanburg!
