Hi Bernard, just finished your latest excellent novel, Death of Kings. Love your work! I was really amazed to read in the historical notes that you are descended from the historic Owners of Banburgh Castle as, completely coincidentally, so is my business partner but from a much later date. How weird is that! Anyway, no question for you, just a thank you for brilliant characters in great stories. Looking forward to the next one All the best Brian Matson

I just finished reading Death of Kings and I loved it. I spent the last 2 days immersed! Two suggestions for the next edition - a more detailed map, and a more detailed family tree. Cynthia

Maps are always a problem . . . they arrive so late in the publishing process, and that isn't an excuse - I'll try to hasten things (and improve them) next time. The family tree? Oh god, the publisher put one in a book and it was a travesty. Maybe we should try again (and get it right this time)

Dear Mr. Cornwell, looking at this screen for minutes on end has proven ineffective in my efforts to write you a decent message. You'll just have to settle for this one. I am completely in love with your works and I am pretty sure I am ruining my social life by refusing to go out with friends so I can spend the day with one of your books. Presently, I'm reading the Saxon Stories and I've just ordered the final book alllllll the way from the UK, hoping to get it before everyone else so I can brag about it and seem cool (well, you know. Cooler). Let it be known that you are responsible for me nearly falling off my window as I watch the street for postmen until the book comes. Shame on you. Thank you for your amazing stories. You are truly an inspiration in how you write and in what you write. Big hugs from a Brazilian fan. (PS. We don't actually have snakes everywhere here, don't be afraid to drop on by!)

Q

Hi Bernard me again, just been flipping through the Bulletin board, As I have yet to read The death of Kings, Bulgarian post being what it is, I now know half the plot! Seriously I was hoping to discover Uhtred taking Babbenburgh Well that is obviously not the case, I'll steer clear of your board next book! Regards Roy Manton

Q

Dear Mr Cornwell. Thanks for continuing to write such fantastic books - and getting them even better. Just read Death of Kings, what great, (if ghastly!) battle scenes! Uhtred is so believable despite his invincibility and almost total self belief. I dont think you really worry about the opposition as, good though some of them are, you seem to have got it just right! Bit upset now though - got to read other books until another one comes out so I'm just hoping it's not too long.... Best wishes for 2012. Judy P

Q

Mr.Cornwell, Thank you for all the enjoyment I've taken from reading, listening and watching the great work you've done over the years. It all began with Sharpe's Eagle in the early 80's. My only wish would be that you would revisit the Starbuck's series and write more on that series. I truly enjoyed the four books that you wrote, but feel that the rest of the story is just waiting, and needs, to be told. Thanks again, all the best to you and yours. Rich

Q

After the disappointing (to me)"The Fort", Mr Cornwell is back to his brilliant best with "Death of Kings", another epic tale in the making of England in the first century...outstanding prose, great action and a superb story line make this is must read

Q

Please Mr. Cornwell, end the suspense. Nat Starbuck must have recovered from his wounds by now, and there is a score to be settled with Billy Blythe (Tumlin)before the Civil War ends. I've read all the Saxon Chronicles and the Grail Quest, as well as some other of your works and can hardly wait for more. I know the research which brings your stories to so much life takes time, but; as they say, "Now is the time for all good stories to come to their conclusion" Regards Phil

Q

Mr. Cornwell, I would like to say thank you to you for all of the books that you have written and continue to write. I discovered you about three years ago when I found your King Arthur series. I am a very slow reader, but I couldn't get enough of them and tore them very quickly. >From there I read the Grail Quest books and then discovered the Saxon series (which hooked me on your writing for good). Since then, I have been reading a steady diet of Cornwell. I just finished the Starbuck Chronicles and am about to start Death of Kings when it is released here in the states. My wife and mother also wish to thank you because you have made it very easy for them to Christmas shop for me. I have Ulcerative colitis so I read a lot when I flare up, and really found it interesting how to tied Alfred's stomach condition to it in the Saxon stories. I haven't written authors before, but again wanted to thank you because your books have really given me something to enjoy as well as the amount of knowledge I have learned - I love the historical notes at the end of the books. My only question would be - will we not ever get another Starbuck adventure. The Bloody Ground was excellent, but I hated that it was the last one! I guess I will say the same thing when Uhtred of Bebbanburg has his last adventure.

Dear Mr.Cornwell, I just wanted to thank you for the perfect Xmas present you gave to me& Having read almost of your series, I started Mark Urbans Rifles since you recommended it.I thought I would read one chapter and then the equivalent Sharpe novel. Well, I should have known better; as soon as I started one, I re-read the whole series within a few weeks with at least equal pleasure and much more attention to clever details and the beauty of the language as the first time (finally I found out Patric Harper was in Denmark, too). So when I found out there is a little bit more available, I decided to spare Sharpes Christmas (takes an awful lot of self discipline!) and I enjoyed a short story for each Christmas day 2011, and I think its the best time of year to read it. I had such a good laugh pregnant Mary and her baby girl& So thanks for this present:-) But what will I do next Christmas? You know, there was also Joseph and& Well, all the best for 2012 to you and your family! And it goes without saying that the new Uthred was perfect. Impatiently looking forward to your new book, Zuzanna
