Bernard, I just finished reading the Warlord Chronicles for the second time. While I am saddened that the story of Arthur et al is once again over, I want to commend you for creating a true masterpiece. The combination of historical, fictional, and magical elements is amazing. The characters, conflict, and tragic elements are very compelling. I especially admire the way you weave magic and religion into the story while subtly leaving their validity in question. I personally rate these books as equals to my other favorite series: the Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Foundation (Asimov), and The Dark Tower (King). They are all quite unique, but the Warlord Chronicles will forever hold a prominent spot on my bookshelf. Thank you Bernard, and take care. Richard White Newfoundland, Canada

Hi Bernard, I have just finished reading your book AGINCOURT & was so engrossed in it that I couldn't put it down & ignored all signs of life around me. When I finally read the last word, I wanted more so I got onto your site & couldn't believe what a prolific writer you are - so many titles & all of them just the type of reading that I love. The book was exciting & the heroes very real so that I felt I was right alongside of them sharing in the adventure. I live in Germiston (which is right next door to Johannesburg), South Africa & I will be trying to get hold of as many of your books as I can. I am a new and addicted fan of yours. Christine

Dear Mr. Cornwell, I would just like to thank you for the hours upon hours of terrific reads you've given me. You must get tons of mails like this, but I figured the man I admire so much (you don't only write fantastic books, but you take the time to answer all those (silly?) questions of fans as well), deserves to know he has my sincere gratitude and admiration. I wish you all the best in the future and hope the inspiration never stops! Kind regards, Stan Schreurs, a Belgian fan.

Q

Hello Mr. Cornwell, I published 4 Regency Romantic Warrior Novels on Amazon e-books, but I could not have written them if I had not read ALL of your Sharpe novels. Although they are novels it's the only good research into the British wars. Thank you very much for them. Congratulations on Sharpe's birthday. Constance Hampton Jones

Q

Mr. Cornwell, I have read most of your book and would like to ask you just one question as a fan. If you get to San Diego, CA, would you be available for a beer or a cup of coffee? My treat!!

Thanks!

Q

Dear Mr. Cornwell: I just wanted to tell you how much I enjoy your work. I have to admit that I bought your King Arthur series but didn't read them for 5 years, you see, I had read a review (after I purchased them) which stated that you sort of villainize, Sir Lancelot. Since he is one of my favorite characters in the Arthur tales I have read, I resisted reading your books. One day, I picked up The Winter King, I was debating whether I should swap them on a book site I am on, or give them a try. To make a long story short, I became a fan that day! I have read many of your books and am currently reading the Saxon Tales series. I am looking forward to, Death of Kings. Thank you for sharing your wonderful storytelling talent with all of us. Sincerely, Donna

Dear Mr. Cornwell, I want to thank you for coming out to Denver, CO to speak at the Rocky Mountain Writer's Conference two weeks ago. I was so excited to hear you speak and your keynote was terrific! I am a huge fan of your Saxon/Viking series and the way you balance pagan and Christian characters. Thank you again for coming out to Denver to speak at the conference. You are one of my favorite authors and I was very happy to see you here. No need to respond, just want to let you know how much I appreciated it. Kristin Barrett

It was my pleasure.

Q

Dear Mr Cornwell, Many thanks for your reply to my question about John Weissmiller's identity. Dedicating your book to him is a wonderful way to show your regard towards him and I do hope my question was not too intrusive. Best Wishes. Marion Balderstone

Not at all.

I just wanted to tell you the saxon series has renewed my reading habits. I used to owned all of the books but recently lost them and my copy of azincourt to a flood in my home. I am currently reading them again from the library in anticipation of the new book release. Please keep up the releases I really enjoy them, I even named my fish after the main character cause he dominates the fish tank. But thank you for these great books and please keep them coming.

In reference to the question regarding where in the book Azincourt does the old style counting occur, it is in the 2nd part during the siege of Harfuler when the french surged from the city to attack the cannon. Page 220 in the us English version. I have read the book at least 19 times and am working on number 20. I love this book, thank you for writing it.

Thanks Anthony! I am so sorry to hear about the flooding.

Hi Bernard, thanks for your response to my recent note re loading the Baker Rifle in Sharpe's Battle page 245. I understand you may own one of the Indian made Bakers? These leave quite a bit to be desired re authenticity. I understand that your rifle may allow the flared end of the loading rod to go first down the carbine bore but this is not correct. I ask that you please observe the gentleman, in Australia, shooting the Baker rifle 13 shots in under 4 minutes on the following You Tube site; www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eqz7XLkyx8Y.

I am not trying to be picky. I, like all your other readers, know how much effort you make to be factually accurate in your stories. Whether you want to be or not you ARE an authority on these matters. The large (top)end of the rod is a palm pad- it is not a ball seating flare. I am just trying to help you. Thanks again, Stuart.
