Mr. Cornwell - Just a short thank you for your work. I'm reading the Sharpe novels and just finished Agincourt. I have a two-hour commute, and your stories make the time speed by (pun intended)! What a wonderful way to learn! My teenage son just started reading Sharpe's Triumph. I hope he catches on as I did. The stories give us a whole world to talk about. No need to reply. I really just wanted you to know your work is very much appreciated. Pete Cavanaugh

Q

Dear Mr Cornwell, I would like to thank you for great and always thrilling Sharpe´s novels. My father brought first one from library and liked it very much. I had to read it too and didn´t regret it. Love them all! Richard Sharpe is hero but human too. I´m looking forward for each of his adventures. I must say that you are one of the best writers I know. And of course very interesting historical details. Big thanks from your devoted fan from Czech Republic.

Q

Dear Mr Cornwell. I live in the Parish of Thundersley and attend St Peter's church but am now a regular worshipper at St Michael's in Daws Heath. I am sure you will recall the little wooden church in the corner of the field at Daws Heath, which has been standing there for about 90 years. Now, that little wooden church has, we feel, reached its sell by date and we have decided to rebuild a new larger, but still wooden church. Hopefully all will be completed next year, a year in which the Queen celebrates her Diamond Jubilee and in which the 2012 Olympic mountain biking competition comes to Hadleigh Castle. I just thought you would be interested on the latest very significant news of the Parish of Thundersley. Yours very sincerely. Mike Parker.

Thank you! I do remember the church at Dawes Heath (and the old Peculiar People chapel which was turned into a private home), and I'm delighted to hear that the Olympics reach Hadleigh Castle. Thank you!

Q

I love attending author talks. I can't find on your webpage any old tour dates (so i could figure out if you toured). Do you do author talks and if so please come to The Tattered Cover in Denver Colorado. And please post your schedule. I find out author's schedules much faster from the author. Thanks Ellen Rairdon Centennial CO

My schedule can be found on the Diary page of this website when I go on tour. I don't have plans for a visit to Colorado I'm afraid. At least, not this year!

Q

Dear Mr Cornwell, I have been a avid reader since 93 and have read all your book except the thrillers which I tried and must say that those I read were the most enjoyable and excitable stories I have read; but I have been on a knive's edge waiting for the next Uhtred book and I'm relived that your next masterpiece will soon be read and on my bookshelf for many rereads to come... one of many loyal fans, Neil

Q

Glad to see your seagoing Dick Francis books are acknowledged. I once bought a very battered American edition of Sharpe's Tiger-because they were mentioned in the credits. The death of kings looks a must. I found 'The Fort' a bit hard to get into.It was still worth everything James Pattersson has produced if the one of his I struggled through is typical Regards Steve

Thank you for the good times I had reading your books!! Daniel Jeremiah Boll

Q

Dear Mr Cornwell, I am 19 and have recently started reading your Sharpe series. Starting with Sharpe's Eagle and progressing through the series, although this isn't exactly the current chronological order I find that the original order is what I prefer. My dad has read and loves your books and has a handful at home, he banged on at me to read them but I thought I would not like them but after reading Simon Scarrows, Young Blood series following Wellington and Napoleon I was interested in the Napoleonic wars and finally decided to read your books... Please don't take any offence I am not trying to be rude in the slightest if you may have got that from the above. I would like to tell you how much I have enjoyed your Sharpe books and have found them an enjoyable and easy read, normally finishing a book with in 2-3 days reading. As I have slightly commented on above, I like to read series in order they were published to make a more fluid and interesting story of the more underlying stories i.e. the story following Sergeant Hakeswell. I mention this because I have been reading your books through the Amazon Kindle which has made it possible for me to just download the next book at midnight (which I have done a few times and yes I am slightly addicted) I mention this mainly because I have got up to Sharpe's Sword and unfortunately have seen the it is not available to download much to my dismay. I don't expect you to write back apologising and all that and I know your not responsible for getting the books uploaded online but could you possibly speak to your publishers and ask them to upload the entire series for the Amazon Kindle. I know I have babbled on and I do apologise but I wanted to say so much and have a tendency to put every stupid detail in to it. Kindest regards, Robbie McMillan

I'm glad to know you are enjoying my books Robbie. Your comments have been passed along to the publisher - many thanks!

Heya, firstly, I'm not sending any ideas or manuscripts or virus'! Just wanted to say thank you for a brilliant set of books and fuelling my love of history with marvelous tales of battle, politics and bodice-ripping :D First book I ever read was Winter King when I was 16. I now own the Sharpe, Arthur and Uthred series, still love to read them and am studying the Arthurian period at unviersity. Your books are a great read and quite often spark my interest to go off and dig through books and journals and anything else I can get hold of to do with that period! Thats pretty much all I wanted to say hehe Much oblidged and look forward to the next book! Dan
