Q

Mr Cornwell. I would like to congratulate you on your fantastic novel, Azincourt being made into a film. The book was definitely the best I have ever read and I am very much looking forward to the film. Will be interesting to see how it turns out on screen as apposed to how the imagination builds the characters and events. Nathaniel Banks

Q

Hello Bernard, Many congratulations on having your excellent book Azincourt being made into a film by Michael Hirst, as reported in todays Times. Thoroughly deserved, it cried out to be made into a film. Graham Bradbury

Q

Love your books, but am still anxious to get another Starbuck adventure as I do love the War between the States history. Saw your comments on his extended vacation and do hope you will have time to do another.

Q

Dear Mr. Cornwell, I asked a friend of mine, who is a retired teacher, to recommend some good historical novels a la Pillars of the Earth or Sarum. Thank God he put me on to your Grail series--which I finished in short order. Now on to the Saxons. Keep writing! You have a wonderful gift for transporting the reader on a journey of the mind.

Q

All I want to say is thank you, thank you, thank you; for your historical accuracy, your inventiveness to fill in the blanks, your dedication to your passion...My father and I are Canadian and have inhaled all of the Sharpe books and I have gone on to bask in the Starbuck Chronicles and the Saxon Stories. (have yet to get the 4th and 5th...) Keep on keeping on Mr Cornwell!

Q

My son took me to an evening with you at the Tank Museum at Bovington last night and I would like to say how much I enjoyed it.Your answers to the audience questions were both informative and amusing. I read my first Sharpe novel many years before Sean Bean and have subsequently read many more of your books, the latest being Azincourt. I am also responsible for introducing your books to my son and he now has his father-in-law reading them. Thank you for all your books which I have every intention of reading eventually and we are looking forward to many more in the future. Regards Maureen Torah

Q

In reference to the quote question by Mr. Greer (on 30 Sept 2009) below, Don Blas Vivar said this to Lieutenant Sharpe in Sharpe's Rifles. Just read it. Loved it! Scott Stoeckle Q: I had my wife write the following quote from one of your books and can't remember which it came from: "Reason is the mathematics of thinking, nothing more. You don't live your life by such dry disciplines. Mathematics cannot explain God, no more can reason, and I believe in God! Without Him we are no more than corruption." Yates C. Greer A: I wrote that? Honestly, I don't remember. Maybe someone else can? I have a suspicion someone else wrote it. Scott Stoeckle
