I've just fought the battle of Azincourt! Never have I Experienced such an exciting and truly exhilarating read! I was so absorbed by the sights and sounds of the battlefield that I struggled to stop my eyes running away with the text! Absolutely fantastic!

Hello Mr Cornwell, Hope you & yours are Happy & Healthy. I don't have a question, I just would like to tell you how much a have enjoyed your stories,(Arthur tales,Grail Quest,Uhtreds). I find myself rereading them often. Two or three times a year i reread the "Winter King". The Winter King always revitalizes my soul. Anyway Thank You for your stories, they always make me feel recharged ! Looking forward to the next Uhtred tale. Respectfully David B Turner

I am looking forward to your forthcoming new book, "The Burning Land" which I believe is due out in October. I confess to be an avid reader of all your books, a number of which more than once. My favorite series, nonetheless, remains the Sharpe novels. I am hopeful of one day reading about Sharpe's participation in the Battle of Vimeiro in the summer of 1808, as it would allow further development of the junior Lieutenant Sharpe. We met at your book signing in Williamsburg, VA in 1993 or 1994 for your then new "Rebel" and you were kind and patient enough to sign all my Cornwell books which I had brought along. Michael

Until just recently I was too stubborn to read any of your books other than the Sharpe Series. Since then I have read The Gallows Thief, The Last Kingdom, and Redcoat. With each new book of yours that I read I have a new favourite. I just wanted to let you know what and amazing author I think you are, and wish you good health.

Dear Bernard, I hadn't read any of your books before but a work colleague recommended that I read Azincourt. Not knowing that much about the history of this particular war, I was a little unsure as to whether it would be my cup of tea. One week later, I've now finished reading the book and thoroughly enjoyed it. It's inspired me to find out more about that point in England's history. Recently, we took the family to Hever Castle in Kent where Anne Boleyn resided. There was a lot to learn there and I noticed a few mentions of the battle of Azincourt. Thanks for the great read. I will have to look out for your other novels now! Kind regards, Steve Lamb.

Hello Mr. Cornwell, My father, Ed was an avid reader all his life until his aches, pains, and depression prevented him from opening a book for a long time. Until, that is, I gave him a copy of "The Archer's Tale". He had twinkle in his eye when after finishing the book he told me, "It's a trilogy you know!"I read the first book as well so that we could discuss the adventures of Thomas of Hookton. My dad had a happy last month of his life and got to page 290 of "The Vagabond".I will finish the books for him. Thanks for sparking his imagination and making his last days that much more exciting. Warm regards, Maryann Goulart

I am so sorry for your loss.

Hi Bernard. I just finished Killer's Wake, and I loved it - much more than Wildtrack. I think KW would make a great suspense movie - Pierce Brosnan perhaps as our hero? Anyway, I live in country community in northern California and must ask our library to order the books I have not read as I have read all the Sharpe series, The Arthur Books, Starbuck Chronicles, Stonehenge, and now the Saxon Stories, Redcoat. I loved them all and it would be nice to see Starbuck again as his history is just begun. For now I'll check out the other thrillers, and glad you found Sean Bean for Sharpe - he's perfect and I adore him. just wanted you to know that a woman loves your historical books - must be my old English blood. Thanks and please keep writing. PS

Mr. Cornwell I bet you're receiving many questions about your coming to Rio de Janeiro next month, and I'm sorry to add one more to them. But it's all your fault, because your books are fantastic. Anyway, I know that you said that you'd post on Diary when you know the right schedule for the event, but you said this in June and the event is next month. So I was thinking if, well, your schedule has been defined and you just didn't have the time to post it or something like that. I live far from Rio de Janeiro and I'll have to catch a plane and find a hotel, and I can't just leave my job for 2 weeks so I won't miss your autograph, you know... Of course, I understand if you can't give me this information right now. I'm a huge fan, read all the books that were released in Brazil and some more and loved them all! I hope all your brazilian fans will give you enough time to do some sightseeing, the city is beautiful. And, well, this message is getting too long. I'm sorry for any mistake on my english, it's a bit rusty. Best regards, Stéfano

Hello Mr Cornwell, I am of Brazil would like to know when will be in the Book Biennial in Rio de Janeiro, I really want to go to be in the presence of the Lord. Now, thanks

We should have information to post to the Diary page by tomorrow, but what I can tell you right now is that I will be at the Rio de Janeiro Book Festival from 10 September to 12 September. Hopefully we will have the details soon!

Dear Mr. Cornwell, I have thoroughly enjoyed your Saxon Chronicles series and am delighted that another one is due out in the UK before very long (I have got it pre-ordered just to be on the safe side). I think these would make an excellent TV Series or film but understand that with budgets the way they are at the moment the possible large cast for the battles may make it too expensive. I know you said you have little influence on who reads your material as audio books, but I do hope that this time the publishers have the sense to use Richard Armitage again - if only for the fact that it will mean they sell a lot more!! Like many others I will buy the novel but would also buy it as an audio book. In Lords of the North he captured the Uhtred that comes through in your books and, if they ever do get filmed, I cannot think of anyone else who would suit the part more. There was recently - on the Discover Channel - a whole programme about this period in English History and I can only compliment you on the research you put into your books as it was almost like watching a documentary of Uhtred's life.
