I cannot think of any author who gives me a hunger for more books, than yourself. You are indeed a star Mr. Cornwell and I have loved every one of your books and I have read them all (I think). I just wish that you were a robot that needed no sleep rest or holidays, so that you could pen more of these fantastic novels. Cannot wait for The Burning Land and can we have more Uhtred, Sharpe, Arthur, Starbuck and anything else you have time for..

Greetings, Cornwell! I am a lover of your books! You inspire me! Never die and write forever! Maurílio de Queiroz
Bernard, My brother turned me on to your books several years ago when he gave me the first 2 books of the Saxon series as a gift. I have since read the Saxon, Arthur, and Grail Quest series as well as Stonehenge, Gallows Thief, and, most recently, Azincourt. I have Redcoat and Scoundrel waiting in the wings. I have enjoyed your writing immensely and can't wait to for the next Saxon title. I will also be tackling the Sharpe series in the (hopefully) near future. I also wanted to make a point to thank you for your mention of Conn Iggulden in a post a while back. My brother and I have greatly enjoyed reading his books as well. Having a common reading history has given my brother and I countless hours of fun and interesting conversation. You have been a big part of that and I just wanted to say "Thank you". Keep on writing! -Scott
Dear Mr.Cornwell, my name is Ioanna and I come from Greece. I may be one of your biggest fans here in Greece and I'd like to tell you how much I admire your work. You are a talented writer, and a gifted storyteller. I'm really looking forward to the fifth book of the Saxon series that has been the best company for the last 3 years I've been reading your books.

Hi Bernard I read the question/comment from Brendy Meurisse and her love of the middle ages and chivalry. Whilst you may not be able to get excited about the middle ages, may I suggest Brendy and other like minded readers try the books of Elizabeth Chadwick. Whilst a bit more Mills and Boone than Bernard Cornwell they are a good read and set in just that period. Her novel "The Greatest Knight" tells the first part of the "true" story of William Marshall, later Earl of Pembroke during the time of Henry 2nd, his sons the young Henry, Richard the Lionheart and King John, he went on the become regent to the young Henry 3rd. Her books are well researched but lack the realism of battle you seem to weave into every book, they are a bit lightweight but nevertheless a good read when you've run out of Bernard Cornwell novels! Regards Andrew Moore
Thanks for the recommendations Andrew!
Dear Bernard Thank you for telling us your main source for material on Lord Cochrane. Cochrane, by Donald Thomas is available again from Bluejacket books. It tells the story in a lively manner. It's one of the best biographies I have ever read. Thanks for the reference. --Ed
Dear Mr. Cornwell I have just started to read The Arthur Books -and what a story. Fantastic. I can almost see, smell and feel the characters. I have a special interest in this story, as we have some friends in Brittany, in a small village called Paimpont, apx. 40km west of Rennes. I thought I might be fun for you to visit this little place for a couple of reasons. 1. Its in the middle of the still exciting forest Broceliande. 2. It has street names like Rue Chevalier Lancelot Du Lac, Rue du Roi Arthur, Rue de LEnchanteur Merlin, and Rue de la Feé Viviane and has had those names for a very long time. 3. Merlins tomb is just 4km from the village, and the castle where he was supposed to have been born is apx. 10km from the village. You can find the village on Google Earth just search after Paimpont. Hope to see you in Denmark soon. All the best Lars Falk Knudsen, Denmark
Fugitives from Britain carried the Arthur stories to Brittany and, of course, some of the most fascinating strands of the story were all added in France. It's good to know he's remembered there! Thank you - I'll Google Earth it and, hopefully, visit as well.
I wanted to tell you how much I am enjoying your books. I ran across the first one in a used book store in Corunna, Michigan, and it was obvious it would be right up my alley, because I am interested in British history before the Norman invasion (the book was one of the Alfred the Great series), so I ordered the rest of the series from Amazon, and I am tremendously enjoying it. I am currently reading "Lords of the North" .... This is the kind of book I like the most. I just got the first book of the grail series in the mail, and as soon as I finish this one, I will start on it.

Azincourt was a great read. I am not a prolific reader, but on a subject which means a lot like this I could not put the book down
