Hi Bernard I just finished Azincourt and was curious to read in the Historical Note that in the old calendar, St Crispin's day was the 4th of November, which was the day that I read the battle and finished the book! Great work, I really enjoy your stories! Cheers Andrew

Dear Sir, I am from Serbia and I just recently found the three books about Arthur and they are great! Myself, I love celtic culture and history and you are the first writer who actually captured the darkness of the Dark ages. Unfortunately, the Serbian translations are very poor and I hope I could make some difference. The translation of celtic names are ridiculous. Anyway, thank you for your hard work, please continue as I will continue enjoying it. All the best!

Dear sir, I would like to express my heartfelt appreciation to you for the Sharpe series. I have always been an avid reader, but I find it impossible to put your books down once I begin to read them. As a history major from the Virginia Military Institute, your books bring military history to life and give it a wonderful character and storyline to follow. The characters are compelling, the plots are irresistible, but the descriptions of the battles and of the soldiers is amazing. I can only hope one day to be able to make some of the same travels that you have and truly appreciate the sites that you so vividly describe in your novels. I have only just now read through Sharpe's Sword, so I have several more books yet to go, but I couldn't resist the opportunity to tell the author that you have without question produced one of the most enjoyable series that I have ever had the pleasure of immersing myself in. Sincerely, Drew Dickinson

Hi Bernard. Just finished Azincourt and had to drop you a quick line to say how much I loved it. While I like all of your books (yep, read 'em all), I still think your best are the Arthur books but this definitely my next favourite, even better than the Alfred's and the Sharpe's! Thanks once again for an excellent read and opening my eyes to another period in our rich history. Andrew

Dear Mr.Cornwell...first of all I'd like to say that i love your books!I have to tell you that I'd never read a trilogy before until the Arthur books, especially with names and places that are hard to pronounce..but i just loved them.Followed quickly by the Saxon series.(when can we expect #5??)I just took ownership of Azincourt last week but will not be reading it just yet.(it has to sit on the shelf and mature till the time is JUST right to open it..like a good wine,eh!)I suppose with being from the old country originally i feel a connection to the 2 series' I've just mentioned.I'm going to start the Gail quest soon and am really looking forward to them. The only thing i don't quite agree with is a quote of yours which goes something like this..."i really don't need this kind of competition"...after laying the 1st one to one side,1/2 read, probably never to return back to it again I'd say you've nowt to worry yourself about there old chap!!! Thanks for writing such great books and can you give a hint if you are continuing the story left hanging in Sword song. All the very best Gaz.

Hello, I'm a Canadian university student and was introduced to your Warlord Chronicles by my boyfriend, who is a huge fan of yours. I was researching Peredur/Percival for my medieval French literature class, and was interested in learning more about Arthurian legend. I never thought I would enjoy this type of historical fiction - I love reading but I usually stick to works that are more centered to females. However, I absolutely loved your Warlord Chronicles and devoured all three as quickly as I could. You have really inspired in me an interest in Arthurian legends - thank you for a great reading experience!

I have just finished the 4th book Sword Song having read the other 3 in succession. I have to say I loved them all. Especially the battle scenes your descriptions made me feel as if I was there. I live in Wimborne Dorset and the story is mostly set around this area and so was of particular to me. I wait with bated breath the next installment.
