Well I don't know how to do this being that you are the first author I've written. I just wanted to say or to let you know that your books are really great. From the Archer's Tale to the Pale Horsman I've read and re-read them. I never thought I'd like historical fiction, but you write it in a way that is entertaining and fun and dramatic all in one. I'm sure you hear a lot on how well your books are and I'm not trying to brown nose you or get some free signing or something. All I want from you is for you to keep writing. I love your work and hope to see more in the future like the Pale Horsman or Archer's Tale, I'm about to read the King Arthur series you wrote and look forward to seeing them to the end. Well anyhow I'm just trying to say so un-poetically and un-eloquently is that your books , your minds eye of how you see those events and bring them to life on paper is impressive. Thank you for your work and keep entertaining us with it. -Daniel

Hi just a quick comment to say that, although you probably get this a lot, I am a huge fan of your books, I think you are easily one of the best authors that Britain has produced. I am a history teacher in the north west of England, and I often recommend your books to pupils who believe history to be "boring". The soon change their minds after a read of Sharpe!! You have even inspired me to try to write my own piece of historical fiction. For this, and for providing me with hours of enjoyment visiting the Peninsular Wars, the American Civil War, and especially Arthurian Britain (the Warlord Chronicles are my favourite of your works!), I thank you! Good luck with your next book! Regards, Brian Murray

I am an enormous fan, having read almost all of your novels - beginning with the Sharpe series. Thank you for all the entertainment and education you have provided! I came only lately to the Starbuck Chronicles and would like to add my voice to the others clamouring to see this series carried on the the conclusion of that most calamitous war. Cheers! Hello Mr Cornwell Good Evening from Brazil . Today I just finished the 4rd book of your Saxon Stories "Sword Song", and I am waiting for the 5th. I have no doubt you are my favorite writer, and it is important to let you know how much I like your work. Writing to you was a great pleasure. Kind Regards, Oswaldo Egydio

The Grail Quest series are the only trilogy of books I can read, put down for a week, and then re-read with the same level of excitement as the first time because of the detail you put in. I was also thinking this series would make some great movies.

Well when I finish Scoundrel, I will have read all of your published works. What a treat it has been to share your stories and their lively characters. Thank you for sharing your wonderful talent with us. I hope your books are as much fun to write as they are to read. Peace + Clark

I would just like to say thank you. I have, I believe, read all your books and enjoyed them tremendously. This was reinforced tonight when I watched an episode of 'Sharpe' on 'UK TV Drama'. Whilst I have loved 'Sharpe' and would welcome more. To me, the books I really loved were the sailing thrillers. More please..... Best wishes Paul

Sir, Thank you for rekindling my interest in the US Civil War, via The Starbuck Chronicles. While stationed at Fort Meade, Maryland, my (then) pre-teen son developed an unending unquenchable desire for all things related to the Great War of Northern Aggression, thus, we visited every known battlefield in the Maryland, Virginia and Pennsylvania arena, to include a 6 day camp at Gettysburg. It was, at that time, forced knowledge for me. while today it is fond memories. I am losing my vision to Macular Degeneration and my reading is limited to what is available in the form of audio books, Thank God, the Texas Talking Book Program carries your books. I received an unrequested copy of Battle Flag and upon noting that it was part of The Starbuck Chronicles, thought immediately of the television series, Battlestar Galactica. I decided to give it a listen and am extremely grateful for their error in sending it my way. I finished it and immediately requested all companion volumes. Your writing sir, is pure magic. As I listen to the narrator, I can close my eyes and see the scene unfolding. Having visited the battlefields only intensifies the realism. Thank you, and please, revisit The Starbuck Chronicles, to tie up the loose ends. Jon B. Smith

Thank you!...I am the single mother of two and a retired naval veteran...I am currently finishing my degree and have rare time to wind down and disappear into a good book. Something I really love to do. I am sorry that I have not run across your books before..I started with the Archer's Tale..I really do enjoy historical novels, not necessarily romantic, but graphic enough and written in such a way to help me visualize in my minds eye the time period and the adventure as it unfolds...if the rest of your books are like this one...thank you...you have a new reader and one that is grateful that you and your associates take the time to research the truths of the time periods and have brilliantly transferred it to paper in such a way that I can escape into the pages and release myself into the period as if I was the one who was the main character in the book........Thank you again....I look forward to enjoying many more of your books.
