Q

Dear Bernard. I am one of the mostly shy person. Excuse me my english, but I used to be a student a long time ago. I am a psychologist, 26, and I live in a very small town called Cuiabá, in the state of Mato Grosso, Brasil. (far like Gawilghur for you, I think .... laugh). I just like to thank you for your books, I have just read twelve of them, specially the books of the grail quest and the sharpe´s, of course. I have to admit that it´s very easy to read, because I don´t have to read with my eyes but with my soul. I have found a lot of examples of psychological types, emotions, loves, pains and great reflexions. Congratulations. From the distant Brasil, a enormous shake of hands and (I think you are so tired of this ....)please, keep it in mind, your books and your ideas made me want to be a soldier under the Derfel´s orders, or a archer helping Thomas or even a british soldier, not just for the glory, but the redemption ..... the growing .... the courage and fear ..... the passion for the life well-lived. Congrats. Leonardy Negrini

Q

Mr. Cornwell, Thank you for The Saxon Stories. I finished "The Last Kingdom" and have just started "The Pale Horseman". Reading this series has been nothing short of excitement and pure enjoyment. All I can say is that I can't wait to begin reading your other series once I finish the Saxon Stories. If I ever have the pleasure of making your acquaintence on the Cape (I live outside of Boston), I hope you'll allow me to buy you a few pints. Chris Foley

Q

Just finished the "Lords of the North", another excellent book in the Saxon Stories series. I am now moving to the Arthur series and plan on the "Grail Quest" later. Thanks for the many hours of quality entertainment.

Q

Dear Mr. Cornwell, I have decided that you may quite possibly be my favorite author due to the quality of your writing and your prodigious number of books published (which are all consistently good in my opinion). Since discovering your books I haven't been able to go to sleep at a decent hour due to the fact I stay up quite late reading them (usually until the sun comes up). Thankfully I'm self-employed and this doesn't interfere too much with my work schedule. Should that happen, I might write a more terse message and request you take a break from the writing thing for a while. Sincerely, Andrew Mayne

Q

Mr. Cornwell, Just finished "Lords of the North" after waiting a year for it. I was overjoyed with it and can't wait for the next book in the series (of course, that's hoping there will be one. I've now read all The Thrillers, The Arthur Books, The Grail Quest, Stonehenge, The Saxon Stories. My plans are to read the Starbuck chronicles this winter then begin the Sharpe Books until the next Saxon story appears. I have delighted in reading your work. My wife doesn't understand but tolerates me. Thanks for the exciting reading. Someday I hope to return to England and visit some of the sites I've read about in your books. God bless you. I did order and read the recommended book about Albert the Great. It made a world of difference in my understanding of the Saxon stories. Thanks for the advice. Harry Bowman

Q

Dear Bernard Cornwell, I'm sure you get fan mail all the time and are probably bored with it! so I'll keep it short: I love your books! I especially enjoy reading the Arthur books and Gallows Thief over and over again. My friends tend to make fun of me because I prefer reading about slaughter and war rather than endless discussions on womens feelings. Your books perfectly balance the amount of "facts and feelings". Looking at your website I really had to laugh when I saw that you described A Crowning Mercy as not bad. I am actually currently reading that book (almost finished!) and it's my absolute favourite so far! Please be so kind and also let your wife know how much I enjoy it! I live in Switzerland, but I was born in England. Your books always give me the chance to learn some English history, but most of all they let me connect with England, a land I love so very much! Thank you for all the wonderful hours of reading your books provide!Keep up the good work, Yours sincerely, Helen Matter

Q

Just a swift line to Mr. Cornwell, I do enjoy your books. That is an understatement.I have spent it seems like most of my life reading them. Having been a Sharpe fan from the beginning i have literaly just caught up with everything else you have had published. I am halfway through Stonehenge, a fantastic read that eluded me when first published, and then that's me done. So to get to the point, with respect, could you please get your finger out and write some more. Regards Eddie Hight Chelmsford, Essex

Q

Mr. Cornwell, I'm a poor teacher who recently picked up, and subsequently became addicted to, your Saxon Series. Worth every penny. And taxes be damned because the Arthur Series is next on my list. Please keep the good books coming! Gary Zimmerman
