Dear Mr. Cornwell. I just wanted to tell you how lovely your books are! I had read the King Arthur series a few years ago and loved it, but NOW I have discovered Mr. Sharpe. OH MY. And the whole reason is because I liked Sean Bean as an actor. However, living in a small town in the US makes it hard to find the videos, so I began reading the books. NOW, I am hooked. ONE day I will SEE Sharpe, but for now I am loving him in print. I am working my way through the series, and am learning so much (my knowledge of Napoleon before this was he was an Emporer, short and loved Josephine! Thank you for so much detail and exquisite, yet spare, writing. gorgeous! Since I hope to be a published author one day, I try to pay attention to your writing style, which I greatly admit. Now, I see, I will have to get ALL your books. What a superb author you are - I would think working in all the "known" facts would be so difficult. Thank you for such excellent writing, GREAT characters (yes, I'm in love with Richard Sharpe, even without the benefit of Sean Bean!) and lovely stories! My only problem is as a woman, the number of my peers who want to discuss the Napoleonic Wars is limited! (I find the same with the Civil War, when finished with Sharpe plan to move on to THAT series, too. But, as I said, I have learned SO MUCH from your books. And your interpretation of the King Arthur is one of the BEST. So, Bravo! Wonderful! I will ALWAYS be looking forward to your next book! PS - what a lovely website, too. and I don't think your 'note' is unfriendly, just firm! PPS - do you ever read any of the fanfiction inspired by your stories? Some of it is distressing, but some if very good (I have NOT written any!) Anyway, the various takes on Sharpe's childhood make me wonder what is YOUR'S? (other than the basic facts we get in the stories) Sorry to blather on. I just love your stories! Becky McCollum
