Your Questions

Q

WW2 wan't all bad, then, was it? We have you, so there you are! Thanks, Bernard, for many hours of wonderful reading. My question is, any movement in making the "Grail" series into a TV or Screen movie? Should be as popular as the Sharpe series I would think. By the way, ever meet up with Peter Spencer, in your British TV days? Old friend of mine from my youth who was a BBC Producer. Keep it up, mate, we love your work. Brian W. Harlow

A

Thank you Brian. No plans for a Grail film at the moment - and I fear I do not know Peter Spencer.

Q

Dear Mr Cornwell, I've been a big fan of your books for many years now and I have enjoyed the sense of realism in them. I would like to ask however, how you are able to describe the military life in various ages in such detail. Do you have a military past? Matt

A

No military past - just a fascination with military history and an unruly imagination.

Q

what happened to Sharpe's child by Morello and Harper's wife and child and please can we have a happy ending where he goes back to Normandy? Graham Whitt

A

I don't know what happened to the child, but we must assume she lived happily ever after, just as Sharpe did in Normandy.

Q

Do you know whether "Sharpe's War" will be (or has been) shown on The History Channel in the U.S.? It sounds like a wonderful series. Oh, and I'd like to put in a request for another Starbuck book. Thanks for all of the enjoyment you've given to me. Bob Masone

A

It hasn't been shown yet - and I don't know if they have plans for it, but if they do we'll be sure to post the details to this website.
