I have a very simple question. I am wondering if you do book signing tours. If you do will you be doing one in southern California at all?
Melea
I have no plans for a book tour in the US this year.

Dear Mr. Cornwell,
this Year is the 200. anniversary of the "Battle of Leipzig". I know that you do not want ideas for a book, but can I wish a Sharpe book with a plot in my town? or even a short story?
greetings from Leipzig
Paul Engling
It won't be this year! But maybe some day?
Mr. Cornwell,
First off my father and I are huge fans of your books, especially the ones focusing on the European wars. We will often buy each other the same book at Christmas for each other purely by accident, although- I sense- now it's so we don't have to share.
I actually have a few questions, the first is have you thought or been approached about turning Azincourt into a motion picture? I think you'd have to make it two parts but I've thought since the day I read it, that it would make an excellent one.
The second question is a simple one; is 1356 the fourth book in the Grail Series? As well as, what's the best way to get the first three? I live in Canada and have a bugger of a time trying to find them!
Thank you for your time and I look forward to many more novels from you.
Caleb
There is the occasional talk of films, but I honestly do not pay much attention to it.
Although 1356 does feature Thomas of Hookton, there is no search for the Grail so I don't really consider it part of the Grail Quest series. The three books of the Grail Quest series, Harlequin (published under the title The Archer's Tale in the US), Vagabond and Heretic can all be found on Amazon (including Amazon.ca). You will find links to Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk on the book pages for these books on this website (http://www.bernardcornwell.net/series/the-grail-quest/)
Dear Bernard,
I note from reading through comments/ questions from readers that not many are women!
As a woman I have read many of your books with great interest and total absorption (most of Sharpe all of Saxon series to date which I adore, couldn't really get into Arthur though, didn't like or relate to any of the characters).
Do you know when latest in Saxon series will be available in Australia?
Personally I have a huge interest in social history - what life was like for the common person in different times. I put myself into the picture and try to imagine my life had I lived then.
All I can say is thank God for modern medicine, hygiene etc. I imagine myself as a mother of warriors (I have four sons and a daughter) but the reality is that I would most likely have died in childbirth and if by some miracle I'd survived would probably have buried my children!
Thanks for taking me there anyway,
Helen
I believe The Pagan Lord will be available in Australia at the same time it becomes available in the UK at the end of September.
Dear Bernard -
Thanks again for the countless hours of reading pleasure! Anxiously awaiting the continuation of the Uhtred saga - for some of the previous installments you have posted a "teaser" chapter on your site before publication. Any chance of a peek at the "Pagan Lord" to help get us through the summer?
best
Chris Peltier
Yes! You will find the link to see an excerpt of the book on the book page (http://www.bernardcornwell.net/books/The-Pagan-Lord/)
Hi, Mr. Cornwell.
The pagan lord will be the last book of Saxon Stories? Or more book of the saga are coming?
Renan
Could you tell me when the next book of the Warrior Chronicles will be released?
Laurence Ireland
Hi Bernard,
I am just finishing the Last Kings and I would like to know if there is another book coming afterwards. I am a great fan of you and Uhtred... ;) I am Swiss but married to an english girl and I love history. Anyway, please let me know when I can expect the next book, I am addicted... :)
Greetings form beautiful Switzerland!
Nathanaël WengerHello Bernard:
I have never written on anyone's website before but felt compelled to do so from your website. I am 58 and not much of a reader until I was told I must read the Saxton Tales. I am addicted to your writing. I have read all the Saxton Tales and Just finished Azincourt. Now I just purchased the Grail series. You probably have said this before but how many more books and when are they coming into print for the Saxton Tales. P.S. I am sure I will get to 1356 after the Grail's.
Thanks, Greg
The next book of the Warrior Chronicles/The Saxon Tales will be The Pagan Lord. It will be published in the UK in September and in the US next January. It is not the last book of this series. There will be more (but I'm not sure how many more!).
Hello
Big fan of your books. I don't read much fiction, I prefer non-fiction, but I love reading your books!!.
I have a question about the Sharpe Books - Did you intend originally to have Jane turn out the way she did ?Thank you, keep up the grand work.
Damien Silson
Not really! She curdled on me while I was writing the books. Poor girl.
Hi again, Mr. Cornwell.
I know you don't know the answer to this, but please hazard a guess: Do you expect your upcoming Elizabethan series to be a long one (like Uhtred, 9-10 books) or a shorter one like the Grail Quest (3 books). How much history is there to work with here? Will it end with Elizabeth's death?
Alan Kempner
Long, I hope. Not with Elizabeth’s death, no. Lots of history!
Mr Cornwell.
Hello to you from England. Big fan of the Sharpe novels! I'll keep it short as you probably get asked this a lot. Will you ever write another one?
Thanks for your time
Emma Brown
Dear Mr Cornwell
I would like to advert you to major Sharpe who is in need of employment. ( sorry couldn't resist the quote! )
Do you know when the next Sharpe book will be and if you have any idea where he will be? Flanders Portugal or Spain? He must be getting bored of the rest by now surely?
Matt Nicholls
The next Sharpe will most likely follow Sharpe's Fury (but it's still a few years away).
Dear Mr. Cornwell,
Over the course of the last few months, I have become an avid reader of your many novels. Through the course of my reading, I have wondered the question, "What is your favorite series to right"? Could it be the series of: a poor born Englishman who became one of the best commanders in Sir Arthur Wellesley's army; a yankee who is fighting against his home; the greatest English legend whoever lived; A young man who starts to fight in the century long war; or is it the story of a Pagan who fights to save the very people who despise him, the Christians of England? Thank you very much for the wonderful stories. It has filled many hours of boredom and helped me to become more aware of war history.
Sincerely,
Christian Wilson
The Arthur trilogy is my favourite! They were fantastically exciting to write, which is why I like them so much. But I have a lot of other favourites – I like Gallow’s Thief and The Fort, and for some reason Sharpe’s Siege. But my favourite Sharpe book? Sharpe's Trafalgar.
