dear Mr. Cornwell, thank you for your books! so far I have only read 4, well actually I am reading no 5 right now. I found the Last Kingdom in my bookstore a couple of years ago. I hadn’t heard of you before but I am interested in history and love historical novels so I read the back of the book and bought it. I believe it took me two days to read it and I bought then next two books right away. I had to order Sword Song in english cause it wasn’t on the market in german yet. I haven’t touched a book in almost a year but went to the bookstore and bought Burning Land the other day. Right now I am at page 338 and I want to pace myself cause I know I will regret reading so fast when the book is finished. I am really fascinated by your books and I am glad you wrote so many books. I have 4 in my shelf that I haven’t read yet, (Harlequin, one of the Sharpe`s books, Azincourt and the Winter King). I go and randomly buy books when I see something interesting all the time… I think I will start with the Winter King and get the other two that belong to it soon. I hope I’ll enjoy them as much as I enjoy the saxon books. I wanted to keep this short cause I can imagine that you get tons of mails and either you, or whoever reads them for you has a lot to do with reading and answering these mails. actually all I wanted to do was thank you for your great books! yours, Heike Rückert Mannheim, Germany
hi again, after I wrote my mail to you I read through “your questions”… bad idea, like I said, I am only at page 338 at Burning Land… now I already know that Uhtred will not get his castle back. I hope the next book will come out soon. I guess I’ll have to order it again in english cause I won’t be able to wait again :) yours, Heike
