I am close to 40, and I was never a reader growing up. But a couple of years ago I started reading books. My wife is a book reader and loves Stephen King, and she has encouraged me to read. A few months ago, our PBS station aired Sharpe’s Challenge. I enjoy Sean Bean’s acting, so I watched the show and enjoyed it. A few days later I found that you wrote a series of Sharpe stories, but my first book I read of yours was “The Lords of the North”. I enjoyed this story very well. I’ve read the Lord of the Rings, and all sorts of other fantasy novels, but this story was fresh and real. I’ve read Sharpe’s Rifles, and am currently finishing Sharpe’s Eagles. I just wanted to thank you for your entertainment through words. Out of the few authors works that I have read, you are by far my favorite, and look forward to reading all of your work. Your work has also inspired me to write as well ( don’t worry, I will not email any of my work to you. You’ve got years of experience as a writer, and respect that.) I’m an artist who has been struggling with numerous comic book, and graphic novel projects, with a full time job. I do have stories to tell, and understand that this is not an easy task. All i can do is try. Once again I’d like to thank you. Your work is very entertaining, and I have a lot of your books to read.
