Hello Mr. Cornwell I have so enjoyed reading The Last Kingdom and The Pale Horseman. I have become so engrossed in early Anglo Saxon history that I decided to look up my own family tree, which has been traced back to the 8th century A.D due to being descended from several royal families. To my surprise I found a Ughtred of Northumbria, b 971 and d 1016. I realize my ancestor was born a century later than the character in your stories, but it really brings history to life for me to read about the exploits of another Uhtred in the same Anglo Saxon period. Please continue writing such thrilling and engrossing stories for your fans, of which I am one of the newest. I can’t wait to continue Uhtred’s saga in The Lords of the North!
