I read The Burning Land in one sitting…and I am going to read it again! I am so happy to be a part of Uhtred’s life again! My wife is tired of hearing about Uhtred, however—I often bring him up with sarcastic enthusiasm when we are making decisions and going through our daily life. I had slacked off a bit, but I am in full “Fate is Inexorable” mode once again! I’ve been a fan of yours only for about seven or eight years now, but in that time I have read every book you’ve offered, and although I have my favorites, I love them all. That being said&.Derfel has been passed by Uhtred and finds himself in second place! About “The Burning Land” : In the previous novel, I felt Uhtred getting old and perhaps even tired…I felt like the story of his life would continue, but that it was slowing at too fast a pace. THANK YOU for ending that pessimistic view of mine! Uhtred is back, and although the Spinners often amuse themselves at his expense, weaving dark and brittle threads, he is as much alive as he was when he met Ubba Lothbrokson by the sea! I must tell you once again that your books have and continue to bring joy and adventure into my life. I appreciate them all, and look forward to the next!
