Hello Mr. Cornwell, I am having a love/hate relationship with you at the moment. I love your books but hate that I can’t go more than a day without reading them. I never thought I had an addictive personality until I began reading your books about 7 months ago. For Christmas, one of my friends bought me The Archer’s Tale. I had never read any historical fiction, and other than my college-level military history and international history courses I took at West Point, I had very limited knowledge of the time period covered in the book. Well, I finished the book in about a week and found myself at Barnes and Noble within 15 minutes of finishing it. I quickly read the remaining 2 books in the series. I then moved on to the Arthur books, and am now finishing up the Saxon stories, as I’m halfway through with Lords of the North. I am an avid reader, but I can honestly say that I have never become so emotionally attached to any characters before now. However, I felt myself missing Thomas of Hookton, and then even more so with Derfel Cardarn. I am now completely enraptured by Uthred as I finish the last of the Saxon stories. Thank you for writing such historically rich and emotionally fulfilling stories. I have recommended your books to all my family and friends. I only wish that the stories would never end. I long for more of Thomas of Hookton, Derfel, and Lord Uthred. Thanks again for such amazing stories. I can’t wait to move onto the Sharpe books after I finish Lords of the North. Best regards, Shawn Gundrum
