Dear Mr. Cornwell, I am a graduate student with a keen interest in Anglo-Saxon language, literature and history. I’m presently completing my MA at the University of York, and will start a Ph.D. in October on the Old English vocabulary for weapons and warfare. At the moment and working on a dissertation that is, basically, a semantic study on the conceptual field of lordship in Old English literature. A few months ago my girlfriend gave me one of your books, The Lords of the North, and I found it amazing, definitely one of the most fascinating modern books I’ve ever read. One of the (many) reasons why I liked it so much is its historical accuracy, which shows that you are not only a great writer but also a diligent researcher. I can’t wait to read the other books of the Saxon series. Therefore, thanks for writing about this fascinating historical period and good luck with your work. Best Regards, Giovanni Bonanno.
