I have very much enjoyed a number of your books, but would like to suggest that you obtain a copy of THE BOOK OF COSTUME by Millia Davenport. I have noticed costume errors previously; here are a few from LORDS OF THE NORTH. The first mitre worn by a British clergyman was in 1063. (p.53) A scapular is a garment worn by monks, not Bishops, and is derived from an apron (therefore not worn around the neck, like a stole), and would not have been embroidered.(p.53) The headcovering of a woman of the 9th century would have been a veil; there was nothing that could be called a bonnet at that time…there were not even coifs.(p.231) I realize that you pay close attention to accuracy in descriptions of battle and battle gear to the extent that information is available. These are minor points, but it is well within your ability to bring your entire narrative to the same standards. Nothing can improve on your storytelling, however! Paige Goodman
