Dear Bernard: I discovered your work with The Saxon Tales about a year ago. Since, I have read all your works, with the exception of several of the Sharpe Novels. The historically based series (Grail Quest, Warlord Chronicles, etc.) are of greatest interest. In particular, as a Civil War buff, I have enjoyed The Nathaniel Starbuck Chronicles. It was a great disappointment that this engrossing tale was dropped with The Bloody Ground. I realize that you have numerous interests and demands on your time, but abandoning young Starbuck and your other intriguing characters in this series so early in the conflict, and without closure, has left a real sense of “unfinished business”. I am satisfying my continued interest in your work with Lords of the North, however, I still yearn to follow Starbuck and his fellows to a natural conclusion. Realizing I am only one voice in a cacophony of demands on your time and talent, I still want to urge you to return to The Nathaniel Starbuck Chronicles at your earliest convenience. Thank you for your consideration. Respectfully, James E. Lange
