Dear Bernard, I’ve also just finished ‘The Lords of the North’ and can’t wait for the 4th to be released in October. I am originally from land north of the Humber but currently live in Hong Kong, where i have read all 3 of books. The familiar landscapes that you so vividly describe has somehow managed to keep me spiritually in touch with the most beautiful part(s) of England. Me and my pregnant wife return back home in July, hopefully with a healthy baby, so I’ll be able to read your 4th installment to my new baby. At the moment, Alfred is the favourite name if it’s a boy. One more thing. Took your advice and read Flashman. Fantastic stuff. Incredible to read such language and viewpoints. Can’t work out if it would have been seen as scandalous stuff in the 60’s. But I can see where Carry on up the Kyber got it’s influence. All the best, Martyn
