Hello Bernard! I’m a hugh fan of the Saxon series, but I have a few complaints- firstly, the books were so good, that, whilst I read them as much as I could during my tea and lunch breaks at work, I found I could not put the books down, and was warned several times by my line manager for lateness back to work. Secondly, I’m glad to hear (hopefully its true) that the 4th part is coming out October 2007, but – problem is, I can’t wait that long. So to put it frankly, please stop writing such excellent works, and if you insist on continuing to do to, which I’m guessing is what you’re going to do…please can you see that they are published sooner! many thanks, from a highly disciplined anxious fan.

Dear Bernard Cornwell, Last night, I finished reading Lords of the North, or rather, suddenly the book ended! I am thoroughly happy to know that you will write a sequel (or even better; more), but please, please do it fast! Don’t waste time answering people (even me..) or anything! I read the Arthur, Stonehenge, Grail and Saxon books, and Uthred is fast becoming a strong competitor to even superb Arthur. Here in Denmark, I believe I’m responsible for the publishing of a translation of The Last Kingdom, because I reviewed the English version so exuberantly in the newspaper I happen to edit. So maybe you could write fast, just to return the favour? Lots of grateful greetings, Anne Knudsen
