Got Azincourt last Christmas – didn’t put the book down until I had read it – got the Burning Land this Christmas – have asked wife to get the rest of the Saxon series for me – I live in Essex so it was great to have some of the local areas included. With the discovery of the Staffordshire Hoard of 1,300 Anglo-Saxon Gold and Silver items -any thoughts about constructing a story around the hoard?

Dear Mr Cornwell, I am now starting to read the saxon stories and I have to say I am enjoying them really really much. The characters are real and strong, as usual, and from the first pages it seems to live the story with them, as a comrade. I would like to know where can I find information about the history of that age, if you can suggest me some essay? I would like also to know what you think about what is called the Staffordshire hoard, which probably came along straight from that age. Thanks a lot for your fascinating stories and Merry Christmas, best regards, Sergio Vatalaro
