Hello Mr Cornwell, I look forward to having the Burning Land soon. Did you read the obit in the Telegraph about Master bowmaker Mr Roy King? Sad it is his obit but lots of interesting info about bows and bowmen. The bowmen on the Mary Rose had deformed shoulder blades and twisted spines and most were 5′ 8″ . Also the bows on the Mary Rose were not as powerful as the bows used at Azincourt. The distances of Mr Kings arrows from his fiberglass bows is stunning. He had a bowman use one of his wooden bows and that archer sent an arrow 345 yards. I hope Mr King passed his bowmaking skills on to the next generation. I have given two of your books to two of my Chinese students. No feedback yet and I wonder what kind of ideas your books will bring out.
Have you ever thought of mixing Sharpe and Beethoven. They are both in the same time zone. I wonder what they would make of each other? Regards , Nicholas.
