Good evening I’ve emailed a few times in the past (though not for a couple of years) just wanted to say thankyou really (I’m sure you get that a lot). I love how much I’ve enjoyed the books as I’ve gotten older (having started reading your books at around age 12/13 and I turn 17 next week.) When I first read Sharpe’s Battle, the first of yours I picked up, I remember wishing all books were as good, and then made my way through the series, in a somewhat daft order, going Battle, Prey, Trafalgar, Company etc, I just picked up the one that appealed most to me then. Recently I’ve had the chance to go through them all in order (bar Sharpe’s Sword, which I can’t seem to find..) and they’re just so good. I also recently re-read the Arthur books which must be for the third or fourth time. They have to be my favourite books of all time, like old friends. I even got somewhat offended when somebody offered to replace my copy of The Winter King. It’s MY copy, and as good a friend as anyone I know. This was originally intended to be a short thankyou, but I have a talent for speaking for an unnecessarily long time. Looking forward to The Lords of the North! Just to say once again, thankyou, your books mean a lot to me, and keep writing! Rob (A budding Author) Ps. Wondering if you saw the recently released Tristan and Isolde movie? Was quite entertaining, though I kept pointing out where it differed to your retelling, much to my friends annoyance!
