Hi Mr Cornwell
I wonder if you could answer me a few questions,
1) I’m eagerly awaiting 1356, so whilst I’m waiting I’m rereading the grail quest (my favourite of your books, which saying something because all of them are awesome.)
In the prologue of Harlequin, Guy Vexille picked up a bowl that contained the communion wafers and “peered at its darkened surface and reckoned it a thing of no value so left it on the alter” and it is also mentioned again in Vagabond when Thomas is re-search Hookton.
I was wondering if this could have been the grail, that Thomas’ Father was reputed to own, or am I just over thinking things?
2) At the end on Sword song it ends with the capture and rescue of Aethelflaed, then the beginning of the burning lands it is set later on, was there any retaliation or resolution because the burning land jumps to a few years later?
3) I myself don’t have any working theories to the riddle or the identity of Sharpe’s father, but will start as of this question, to help or hinder do we know if Sharpe has a middle name? I was also wondering, (without you giving it away) has anyone actually solved this riddle yet?
Sorry lots of questions, but your website and the fact you take time to answer your fans questions really impresses me and gives me nearly as much enjoyment reading as much as your books.
Thank you
Andrew.
