Hi Bernard,
I just wanted to contact you & say a big thank you for getting me back into reading. I am 28 years old & must admit that I hadn’t read a book for about 8-10 years. I’d start a book, get bored & give up.
I was in the book store a few years ago with a work colleague, whilst waiting for him I was looking at the new releases and came across A Burning Land. Although I now live in Calgary, Alberta. I was born & raised in Brentwood Essex so the fact the story took place in the region of the world it did, really grabbed my interest.
I bought the book & couldnt put it down & well I haven’t looked back since. I own & have read all of the Saxon Chronicles as well as the Sharpe series up to Fury. I also have the Fort and have just finished Harlequin.
After a while I started to read other books in between your own, as the way I was going I would have completed all of them & then would have been bitterly disappointed having to wait upon each new release. As being only human you cannot produce the sheer volume of books that it would to now keep me satisfied.
You are by far my favourite author, not for just getting me back into reading but the subject matter & stories as well as your style of writing really suits me to a T.
I really look forward to see what happens next to Uhtred & hope there are a few more Saxon Stories to come. They are by far my favoutite set of stories ever. I once thought they would make a superb series of films, however no one would ever be able to do it the justice it deserves and tell the story the same way as you have created in these great books.Wyrd Bio ful araed (as close as I can get it).
I apologise for any bad spelling and my grammer. But once again a whole hearted thanks for getting me into the wonderful world of reading & look very much forward to my next book.
