As a retired soldier (6 years British army and 6 years Australian Army) followed by 27 years as a paramedic I have had the pleasure of reading many of your books and have enjoyed all of them. The action and the fear in the combat scenes are very real as is the carnage that follows. I am an avid reader and unfortunately had not found any truly original stories for many years until I picked up Sword Song, it and all of your books brought back memories of my childhood and teenage years. Like you I have chosen to live in a land far from my birthplace, and I am now a proud and patriotic Australian, but I always remember my English roots and proudly fly the flag of St George next to the Australian flag on appropriate days.
