Allan Mallinson has now publlished four Mathew Hervey novels of which "A Close Run Thing" is the first. The main charecter, Hervey is every inch a gentleman, and would have little in common with Richard Sharpe off the battle field. In battle they are made of the same stuff though! Mallinson writes in a style that is nearer to Patrick O'Brian, than Bernard Cornwell, but I feel that BC fans would enjoy him as well.
