Awesome story. It is addicting and top-notch fantasy. There are some terrific battle scenes, some even come close to being comparable to Mr. Cornwell's wonderfully written battles of Lugg Vale and Mynydd Baddon (these are battles in Mr. Cornwell's Warlord Chronicles, which I recommend to any of his readers who haven't read them). A Game of Thrones is book one in George R. R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire. A Game of Thrones revolves mainly around the House Stark, although the range of characters broadens as the story progresses into the later books. I highly recommend it.
