Agincourt: My Family, the Battle and the Fight for France

Another account of Agincourt, but this time with a family history interest. The Fiennes family fought on both sides at Agincourt. Those on the English side as a result of followers of William the Conqueror settling in England, whilst those who stayed behind in Normandy fought for France. Both families rose to positions of high, in some cases very high, office for their respective sovereigns. The account of the battle itself is not so detailed as other publishes accounts perhaps, but the build up and background to Agincourt is well covered and the convoluted interplay of the two Fiennes camp is very interesting. I particularly liked the comparisons between the events of 1415 and Ranulf's own experiences whilst serving in the modern British Army. I commend it Cornwell followers!
