This is the great untold story of the out-of-work veterans from the Napoleonic wars sailing to South America to form the backbone of the patriots' army fighting the Spanish Royalists. They endured disease, superhuman marches and campaigns and incompetent officers to emerge victorious. Sadly, their contribution is almost forgotten. Maybe Sharpe can come out of retirement to tell their story.
