It is about a brilliant code-breaker in WWII who is trying to find his ex-girlfriend who he suspects might be a spy. He is also trying to break a new German form of code, Shark. His ex-girlfriend disappeared after supposedly stealing four German transmissions that had not been decoded. This is weird, as she would not have been able to read them. Then he finds out that she had a male accomplice.
My favourite character is an American naval lieutenant called Kramer.
I would thoroughly recommend this book to anyone who likes thrillers
