I first read this book while serving in the British Army, this book was passed around the barracks and I've "owned " this book 3 times! It's Simon Murray's account of his 5 years in the French Foreign Legion in the 1950's. If you have ever wondered what it is like to be a soldier, read this book, it's a great read and once started you won't put it down until you finish it.
