This excellent book chronicles the rather forgotten actions between Britian and the US on Lake Ontario. An excellent read in which it details both the pressures and problems both Commanders Yeo (UK) and Chauncy (US) were under. Often derided as Victors in defeat this book casts a new light on both men and the pressures and problems they were under. Both men knew that the loser of this fight would give the lake to the other side for the duration of the war and so both were incredibly cautious - each looking for an opening and ship building for the Trafalgur on the lakes that never came.
